Jaworski Draft comments on Dobbs

That helps also. The only reason I said WRs is because Guarantano actually threw some bad passes that our receivers bailed him out of. Like when he threw behind the WR on a crossing route.

I don't think that's because of WR's getting coached better. They aren't suppose to be taught to bail out QB's who throw a bad ball. I think that's just an WR making a great play.

When you see the WR's "drop" balls that should've been caught then you know it's on the WR's.

I do agree that Beard is an upgrade over Azzani... BUT if you are a WR and your QB's can't throw to you very well consistently, you'll tend to expect it and maybe slow down or speed up.. it kills the chemistry.

I am wondering who our next QB to WR will be. Dobbs to Jennings was very consistent.

I do agree that Beard is an upgrade over Azzani. I'm not sure if he was teaching good fundamentals.

I would say that our receivers are adjusting to the pass better under Beard. They do actually practice that because nobody is perfect.

I see people blaming the WRs for Dobbs short-to-mid throws. To me that doesn't make a lick of sense. I can't even count how many times I saw Dobbs overthrow a guy who was less than 30 feet away from him or throw a screen at a guy's feet. Just goes to show the desperation of NFL GMs if he's being evaluated as 1st or 2nd round talent. I feel like in any other draft with a normal QB group Dobbs would be 5-7th round lock.

Go back and watch the tape. Sure Dobbs had some misses but the receivers dropped more catchable passes.

Our wide receivers and tight ends were down right horrible last year when it came to drops. Especially during the first half of the Florida game, the A&M game, and the bowl game against Nebraska. All games were they refused to hang onto the ball.

Maybe they feel.like with a qb coach those things can be corrected

For Dobbs, later part of 1st or 2nd round is best-- i.e. better team than first part of 2nd round!

Agree. No matter which round he goes in (still think it's 4th or later, jmo), I just want him in a good situation with a stable franchise who doesn't need him to play early. Hope he gets to learn behind a solid NFL veteran and he gets to develop the right way and isn't put in until he's as ready as possible. Would love to see him succeed so I can watch and root for him on Sundays for the next decade....nothing like having a former Vol qb to root for in the NFL.

When you are a projected 2nd round pick, there is always a chance you could sneak into the end of the 1st round.

And with QBs and how if you pick them in the 1st round you have them under contract for 5 years versus in the 2nd round where you have them under contract for only 4 years.

I thought you said Pittsburgh was going to take him? 🙄

Think the ownership there is pretty sure that Dobbs isn't and hasn't been the #1 Qb on their board. If and when they take a QB it will be Kizer, if he is still here.

I'm not sure about Kizer.. I know they can talk and evaluate players through back doors, but there wasn't enough data connecting the player to team.
Or.. if they want Kizer, they may have not put stock in him because he might be off the table. The teams 24-32 probably won't waste evaluations/invites/workouts with players they think they won't get.
My list for Steelers in order are:
1. Mahomes
2. Webb
3. Dobbs
4. Peterman

I'm still holding our hope Dobbs sneaks into the first round with either the Chiefs or Steelers.

Dude...

I give you links and data of what teams have talked and worked out with..

Both teams like Mahomes but won't draft him if a position of need is in higher demand at that point.

The Texans are more likely to draft a QB. Watson or Mahomes are best guess.

If Mahomes is out, the chiefs and Steelers could wait for their second round to pick.

I think Chiefs might take a QB in first but it's unlikely Steelers will.

You need to do a couple of mock drafts...once you do that you'll realize Steelers probably will wait 2nd round.. latest 3rd to pick a QB

The chiefs and Steelers are kinda in the same boat on qbs. They can address other more pressing needs early. And probably will.

Exactly. There seems to be only 2 QBs that would be day 1 starters.. and that's Trubinsky and Watson. Next is apparently Mahomes. First rounders aren't suppose to be "projects".

Top 100 prospects

Making the big board
Unlike the first two lists which went to 50 players, this list extends to 100.
The final big board features rankings from NFL.com’s Gil Brandt from April 17, SB Nation’s Dan Kadar from April 19, ESPN’s Todd McShay from April 23 and Mel Kiper from April 25, and CBSSports.com’s Rob Rang from April 19.
Based on where each player is ranked, he is given a score of 1-100, 1 meaning he is ranked No. 1, and so on. If a player is not listed on a specific board, he receives a score of 100.
Ties within the 100 are broken by which player has the highest single ranking among his five. Those are noted by asterisks.
Meet the Top 100 prospects in the final 2017 NFL Draft composite big board. If a player was ranked on the last board, his past ranking is in parenthesis.

Malone: 100
Dobbs: 89
Kamara: 59
Barnett: 11
