YES! Jennings is probably still nursing his knee injury, thus being limited. I honestly believe the staff is holding him back to recoup a little before the Florida game. I think we see a huge dose of JJ come 9/22. JMO

He didnt look injured at all against WV.

I agree that they should use him at safety to get some attitude on defense. A guy like him should be on the field. Something about him reminds me of the Honey Badger.
Even though he hasn't played on defense in a game, he reminds me of a Carl Pickens, especially from the attitude side. I wished they would consider playing him both ways.

Because JJ is a beast! The week of practice leading up to the WVU game, JJ was very limited and still ran with a limp.
JJ hyper extended his knee, he will be ready for Florida...... JJ is a gamer he'll be ready for the Gators....... Will that be enough, probably not

So you think we could have gone more to him during the WV game but it would spoil our surprise for Florida so we held back, I mean maybe?

If OL could find their blocks we have a good QB and WR's. Our passing attack could be very good imo. Loved how banks ran with physicality too. Seemed to rub off on team a bit too

No. I think the coaching staff held him back because he is still nursing an injury and they don't want to throw him back in the mix too quickly just to have him reinjure himself right before the strongest part of our schedule. I believe JJ will prove himself to be Irreplaceable beginning with the Florida game. He has the "IT" factor!

I don't honestly think that's it. I mean, maybe some, but JJ was in the game tonight. And not just on one play to catch a ball. He was in, and blocking, on other plays. You tend not to do that with a guy you're holding back for injury recovery.

I think it's probably a bit more like this: your best WRs play most every down. That would be Callaway and Palmer right now. The other guys take turns getting reps: Palmer, Johnson, JJ and others. But some of these fellas have specific strengths. And JJ's specific strength is big plays in big games. Our first big game--thinking as an SEC team--is vs Florida.

So let's wait and see how he does that game. That will tell us most everything about what we can expect from JJ this season.

Go Vols!
