Jauan Jennings met with Phillip Fulmer today (Trey Wallace)

JJ brings the swag. Would be nice to see him in the wildcat.

Hey he was recruited as a QB, and right now we're pretty short there. He's the healthiest one on the roster. JG can go to the slot, QD to backup, and SJWWM can go kneel on the bench.

Wow. It's pretty well known that Jennings stopped attending classes. His substance abuse problems have also been documented. Tolerance for this behavior has been as much a problem as anything for our program.

Does he have a substance abuse problem or does he smoke weed?

To be honest those players don't want him back on the team. I think Fulmer told him that its over with and he need to move on. Jennings showed his true character when the team was losing. He showed u quitter tendencies. This fan base need to move on from him.

Hey, why don't you go wash jerseys or something and stop attacking a player.

As an employee, you are sharing personal information about a student athlete on a public forum. I'd suggest that if you don't want to be out of work, be quiet and stay in your Lane.

As far as I'm concerned, if you were part of the UTAD the last 10 years, you are part of the problem.

So... it is better to blindly comment on the status of an athlete not having any idea of what the facts might exist (provided the information given is correct) If the statement given is true, there was not an attack, just a statement of facts. Nothing inflammatory, just simple facts. The academic standing of a student can be found and the status of failed drug tests do not violate the student athletes rights.

I think it shows how desperate we are for talent that we're willing to give JJ another crack at it. "We" could mean us, or it could mean the coaches, or both.

It doesn't feel right to me to let him back on the team, but I don't have all the info

And this is why “insiders” stop being insiders.

You’re only an insider if you bring info people want, if you don’t, they turn on you in an instant

I am related to a player who was a senior, starter this past year. You know what I did? I shut my damn mouth.

Insider? I wouldnt call revealing uniform choice anything groundbreaking.

Say nothing.

I'd say there is more than one athlete that has pissed hot. Should we go ahead and just spill it all?

The UTAD has been cancerous. Apart from Joe Harrington (who would never share **** on a forum) I'd fire everyone down to the janitors and start fresh.

I think there have been some intentional efforts from some inside the program to smear JJ, starting with Hyams reporting.

That staff were idiots. If all this is true then whose decision was it to let him on the practice field? Tell me that Mr. Insider?

Are you the uncle of a current WR? Or is that another poster? I can't keep it all straight here. If so, that's good insight, and affirms my feeling on this issue. It really is a shame because JJ has the talent and the competitiveness that the team really needs. But you can't ignore the rest of the story.

If JJ is in good academic standing then the local media has been part of a character assassination.

Someone wrote in an VN thread somewhere, that his nephew was a WR on team I think...several other players have told him stories that, have not been 'reported' and he wouldn't repeat...but it wasn't good. Assuming that is TRUE, that perception would need to be changed in players minds.

No.

I'm not saying ignore, but employees inside the program have no business impugning a players character considering the incident was partly the fault of the staff for allowing him back on the practice field.

I agree, but also think he should at least take the teams opinion in his decision. Like you say, the team knows him better at this point.

Definitely. If Pruitt wants to bring him back he needs to discuss with the team to minimize blowback but it has to be Coach’s decision.

To clarify, my question was directed at greazy, not you.

And who says DeerPark is a UT employee?

Pruitt needs to speak with the rest of team, notably the guys in the WR room, just like a boss would speak to the folks at work before hiring a former employee back.

Much in the context of "Hey, what do you guys think about bringing JJ back onto the team?" - take the responses and his own discussion with JJ and go from there.

I'm not an insider or familiar with how JJ was felt of by the rest of the team nor his 'work ethic' in the dark days of last year's beatings...I can merely posture about his status from a talent viewpoint...and from that viewpoint, I say YES.

Don't listen to outsider fans or media...Fulmer 1 on 1, then Pruitt 1 on 1. If they 'think' it could work, Get Fulmer, Pruitt & Team 121 Seniors in a room with JJ.
Former Seniors sleep on it, then vote. If majority thumbs down, no go. If thumbs up, JJ get's up and pleads his case to Team 122. Let JJ mingle and have talks with players. Team 122 sleeps on it, then vote. If 2/3-3/4 + majority is thumbs up, he's in with Fulmer/Pruitt contingencies.

Hey why don't you lay off of DP. He's speaking the truth and gives good info. Thanks again DP and don't worry about what this guy thinks. He has anger issues.

If the staff was at fault for letting him back on before he got another strike against him, why should he be allowed back on now?

As much as I love Jennings and his fire and passion for UT, I would say NO. He quit on his team, and his school.

I'm actually torn on whether he should be allowed back or not.

The kid left his team. He didn't do rehab, he skipped practices, and wasn't on the sidelines. By all accounts, he quit on his team. The video alone isn't the issue. That was him being upset about demanding a spot back on the team after being MIA for months.

On the other hand, this decision could literally mold him for life. Allow him back, he shows humility and discipline, and becomes the baller we need and it takes him to the NFL....

...or, keep him off, he gives up, and does nothing with his life.

Obviously, these are both ends of an extreme spectrum, but they are very realistic. I'm not sure what the right choice is. I'm just worried that this could turn into Kelly Washington 2.0

He needs to meet with Pruitt. And, Pruitt needs to seek the recommendations of the current team to see how they feel about JJ returning. I'd love to see him back, but their are a few more steps to be taken.

I agree with every word of this post.
We desperately need his talent on the field but it is very important for him to be committed with his head on straight 100%.
