Azzani was coaching in Chicago when this allegedly occurred.
He had the fight when he was home on break before his freshman season.
You would believe that JJ has millions and millions of reasons to get on Board with the Program.
One great year, back in class, walking the straight and narrow, speaking and working with "yutes" strengthening the back story would produce a HIGH draft pick and make him set for life.
Having said all of that the paradox is he needs to exhibit and believe it is still all about TEAM and not him.
He is a Great Receiver. Hopefully he can be a Great Person.
Didn't know about the alleged fight that happened when he was 17 years old before he even had his first practice with the vols.
I'll be the first to eat crow if I'm wrong, but I seriously believe we won't have any issues with him.
It has not been proven by anyone that JJ refused to catch balls from JG in practice. Think about this, does that even sound remotely possible? I seriously doubt that is true at all. Keep in mind, if this did occur, it would have happened when the starting QB was not even determined as QD and JG were both supposed to play at GT. Furthermore, I seriously doubt any coach including Azzanni would let that occur.
Finally, Pruitt is a smart guy. Do you really think he would allow JJ back on the team if half of the rumors about him are true?
Here is what we know as fact: he posted a video ranting about the coaching staff and he was cited for marijuana possession. The rest is all hearsay.
Aside from the marijuana possession, there were zero issues with JJ prior to him being injured. I fully expect him to toe the line and continue to be a play maker for us.
Hmmm here is a thought. JJ played QB in high school. Is it possible we put him in more packages like that? Put the ball in his hands more. Thoughts from Vol Nation....
Agreed on the hearsay comment and easy to avoid JG if he wanted to, but this one seems absurd.Just because it's a hearsay doesn't mean it's not true.
Let's say the QBs are rotating in practice who's throwing and there are 3 of them. It would be easy to figure out how to let some one skip ahead to avoid a certain QB. If done discreetly(That's the flaw in my theory.) it could go unnoticed by most, only to be brought up at a strategic time to make him bad. No need to "make" things up. Why bring it up now? Only to pile on.
CJP and Coach Fulmer may be using this to prove they want the best for all the players. Winning is best for all. JJ might grow from the adversity.

Pfffttt..ball has been in his court over and over again. He's dropped it over and over again. Everyone gets this idea that this will be the time. This will be the coach that changes this player. Hope it works out. Big risk for a rookie head coach to take when he's attempting to change the culture and locker room. Seeing that this is likely a 6 win team and year zero, I just don't see a reason to take the risk. Guess we accept it an hope for the best.
Thinking about it, it says a lot about JJ's character to be willing to do all the work to be back on the team instead of transferring. We all make mistakes and if we learn from them, that is what matters. I hope he balls out and a huge welcome back to him!
Everyone can't get a second chance.
Make the most of it Mr. Jennings.
