Yep this is it. The proverbial ball is in his court. His offenses were so far over the line that hell have serious benchmarks to hit. Being judgement day honest here my confidence in JJ to walk the line required is extremely low. So the jubilant feelings here are risky at best. Heres hoping he completely proves me wrong and becomes another Joshua Dobbs type character kid. I dont personally know JJ but like some of you I know people who do know him and lets say its a wait and see attitude so far....
How proud i am that this young man will have a degree from the same school just because he can catch a football. It's this kind of crap that gives college football a black eye.

Pfffttt..ball has been in his court over and over again. He's dropped it over and over again. Everyone gets this idea that this will be the time. This will be the coach that changes this player. Hope it works out. Big risk for a rookie head coach to take when he's attempting to change the culture and locker room. Seeing that this is likely a 6 win team and year zero, I just don't see a reason to take the risk. Guess we accept it an hope for the best.

That horse left the barn ions ago.
The few Universities and Schools that used to chant that mantra................rolled over years and years ago.
WHY ----------Jack. Money.
Like it or not. Big Time Football is BIG TIME money for the school.
Go look at Bammer, Klemson or others and trace what their Football program rising to where they are did for enrollment, donations, growth and on and on.
Get REAL, UT Prez, Trustees, etc. care a WHOLE lot more bout catching a football than your degree!!
It has not been proven by anyone that JJ refused to catch balls from JG in practice. Think about this, does that even sound remotely possible? I seriously doubt that is true at all. Keep in mind, if this did occur, it would have happened when the starting QB was not even determined as QD and JG were both supposed to play at GT. Furthermore, I seriously doubt any coach including Azzanni would let that occur. No need to write every young person off that makes a mistake.
If JG is our QB and JJ is of WR, will JJ still refuse to catch balls from JG like what's been discuses in another thread?
We went thru 3 QBs last year. Did JJ refuse to work with Mcbride as well? That type of stuff doesn't make a team better.
Bringing JJ back has a greater chance of working out bad than the benefits of showing the world that UT believes in trying to give everybody a fair shake.

Finally, Pruitt is a smart guy. Do you really think he would allow JJ back on the team if half of the rumors about him are true?
Here is what we know as fact: he posted a video ranting about the coaching staff and he was cited for marijuana possession. The rest is all hearsay.
Aside from the marijuana possession, there were zero issues with JJ prior to him being injured. I fully expect him to toe the line and continue to be a play maker for us.

I am actually hoping it is as a safety, if we need him there at all.
Hmmm here is a thought. JJ played QB in high school. Is it possible we put him in more packages like that? Put the ball in his hands more. Thoughts from Vol Nation....
