Great athlete but people rarely change. People seem to forget it wasn’t just the rant that got this kid in trouble. Multiple issues reported. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t slip up again.

Given the circumstances the decision to remove JJ from the team should've always been left to the incoming coach. If for no other reason than to let Pruitt set the example of what is not allowed. But it happened and now I'm not sure if it's the right move to let him back on or not. Nothing against JJ but from my understanding letting him back on now counts against this years recruiting class. With only 8 spots left 7 with JJ are we better letting him back than a possible recruit we now can't get? Just another way Currie screwed us imho.

How did Currie screw us?

I’m wondering where he will play. Will Pruitt move him to safety or keep him on offense?

He’s needed much more at WR.

And I think I must be in minority on thinking he wouldn’t be as good at safety...I can see him being very good defending the run but struggling in coverage. He’s just not very fluid, not very fast, has stiff hips imo.

In this particular situation by Currie screwing us was signing off with Brady Hoke kicking JJ off the team. Now it counts against the total of 25 schollys to let him back vs against the 85 to have kept him on the team.

Long shot that he’s on the roster come September imho.

No way Jennings counts against the 25. 85 yes. 25 no

Don’t suppose you were around for the coaching search?

And honestly, just him accepting the AD position screwed us.

I don't disagree with your post but that's not the point of my question.

His statement was Currie screwed us with respect to JJ. I didn't understand since JJ doesn't get dismissed he takes up a scholly. He's dismissed and that gives the incoming coach the choice on how to use that scholly. Not a Currie fan at all but don't see how this is Currie's issue.

No it doesn’t. Just how medicated are you? :glare:

Thinking about it, it says a lot about JJ's character to be willing to do all the work to be back on the team instead of transferring. We all make mistakes and if we learn from them, that is what matters. I hope he balls out and a huge welcome back to him!

Definitely wish I was especially trying to find where I read it. What I recall is that since JJ was dismissed and no longer technically in school. That by allowing him to re-enroll if being offered a scholarship it must now count against the 25 number. Lots of rules changes this year and had the situation happened last year they would've played with the numbers so he wouldn't count against this class.

I'll happily be wrong on this but I don't think I am. I'll find that sources somewhere, unless I get medicated and forget to that is.

You sure he was dismissed from school?

If it does count against the 25 it shows how much his potential to contribute to winning is valued. Either way let’s hope he’s learned his lesson and wants it enough to control his impulsive self and just play ball

Well, he is very talented so the decision was a no brainer. That said, is justice blind in football? Apparently not. That said, I'm good with it. It is just football afterall.
