Jennings is the most physical, focused and passionate player at least on the offense. Brings it every. Single. Game.
His determination is clearly why we beat the dogs and primarily why we beat the lizards. Those performances have made him a legend.
If he is not on this team we may very well be 3-5.
Why in the heck we cant get him the ball more boggles the mind.
For the record, Doug Mathews agrees with you. Said a lot of stuff this morning about the coaching staff, but what seemed to make him most incredulous was why in the world we wait until late in the game to get JJ the ball. Said he couldn't believe Jones hasn't fixed that at this point.
Told a story of Johnny Majors walking into the offensive meeting room when he was there back in the 1980s, and said "this won't take long. 'Player X' better get the ball st least 15 times this week...figure it out, because if he doesn't, and we don't win, I'm firing every damn one of you". Haha.
He then said if he was Jones, that we would do the same regarding Jennings. Said he'd go to Offensive Room this week and tell Debord and company, "if Jauan Jennings doesn't touch the ball 10 times this week, I'm gonna fire somebody". And btw, Kippy Brown agreed. Nippy said you say "either do this and figure it out, or I'll get somebody who will".
Bottom line, Doug said JJ is our toughest offensive player, is a playmaker and he needs to get the ball to help us win and that it's essentially coaching malpractice how they've not used him thus far.
