Jarvis Giles

When I first joined this site people couldn't say enough about Drayton's recruiting skills. Now he doesn't deserve to stay because of one recruit? Makes no sense. (not saying that you were for Drayton at any point Bassmanbruno, just that alot of people said that he should be gone since Giles has announced)

It's more about what he told Giles after Fulmer got the boot, not that he lost Giles. At least it is for me.

Sure sounds like to me the Indian (Giles) was trying to undermine the Chief (Kiffin). I don't care how good someone is, with comments that he has made about retaining Drayton as to whether he would come to UT, I say...see ya. Don't want that kind of "influence" in my locker room. Good luck, Jarvis.

No.

Sour grapes already? You guys sure negatively recruited him there towards the end.

Speaking of winning, where did UT land in the conference this year?

Couldn't feel nearly as bad as your 2008 season.

27-6 :dance2:

1.) How did USCe finish the season? Yeah, nice 7 win season...I know you think that's good since USCe hasn't produced many non-losing seasons in your lifetime but in reality that's pretty sad...regardless of what traditional power that happens to be down you may have beat...

2.) You might want to check the SEC East standings...in our worst season ever we finished 1 game behind USCe...can you say the same thing about USCe's worst season ever

3.) 27-6...okay...how about this...21-4-2...that's the all time record for UT against USCe

Congrats on Giles....I hope he starts for you all next year :crossfingers:

Exactly. If Giles hadn't been told to go to plan B Drayton could have probably kept him in the fold. It will be Drayton's own fault if this is what ultimately causes kiffin to release him. Would be somewhat ironic if his seeming bitterness toward fulmer losing his job costs him his own job. And ironic if he is retained and Giles tries to come back but is told we no longer have room for him. Not the Giles would want to, but it would be supremely satisfying...at least to me.

If Drayton is let go, Giles will probably demand Spurrier hire him or he'll threaten to decommit.

We need to fire Drayton. He didn't really teach our running backs anything. He didn't let them compete(Foster starting), he didn't teach them patience(Hardesty), and didn't work on fundementals(Creer). He needs to be fired and that's it. Using a kid to save his job. That's pretty low. Get him outta here.

Giles has been told - likely by other recruiters - that South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier could be a candidate for the vacant Auburn job

You must be employed by the Rumor Mill.

Steve isn't going anywhere. No matter how much you guys want it to happen.

Wow seriously? Is he mentally ill? Surely he didn't base his decision on who came into his head first when he woke up on tuesday... lol.
This kid just gets more and more interesting the more he talks.

Yeah, that's what he said. We lost a good one, huh?

*sigh* Wrong.

Spurrier is old. He's wrinkly. He'll never have USCe competing to win the East. And he's just not the same coach he was at Florida - and if he is - that's bad news for your program if a coach of his caliber can't compete for the SEC at your school.

You're very ignorant to believe he's going to be around for quite awhile. Some people hate losing. Spurrier is one of those people - USCe = a sad excuse for a football program. I'm sure he's so content when they applaud him for "almost" winning the big game the presser afterward.

Considering how bad the line was this year, you can't put much stock into how they played this year.
