Jarvis Giles

I dont know but I get it. We don't have much history.

Apparently the only history you can recall is when your middle of the road team managed to beat the worst team we've fielded in a long time. I, too, would hold on to that accomplishment firmly, because we all know what happens in a normal season (read: South Carolina is an afterthought after a few games). Our fans readily acknowledge that the Vols sucked this year, but you can't come to grips with the fact that a good year in Columbia would put the coach on the hot seat in Knoxville.

I'm really not sure why you continue to punish yourself by posting here. Every argument you concoct is promptly thrown back in your face, and you make no attempt to be anything but annoying. It's sad.

LOL, I was wondering why you guys even respond to this guy since no one (even non UT fans) give South Carolina any respect. You know he is right don't you? I mean it is something special to say that you have won nothing ever in your existence. But then I realized it is fun to beat up on idiots with mullets. Tanneyhill was the best idiot I ever made fun of, the memories of him being slung around by his hair by our linebackers after talking smack, those are things you never forget.

By the way there are better places to golf than in Columbia.

lol green man!!

they do have some nice golf courses.

They don't have Augusta.... I think it's funny that they don't have Augusta either. I mean they're so close!!! But no, just like their football program, they want Augusta, they get North Augusta. So close, but yet, so very far away.

This guy keeps talking about How badly he beat us this year, and how we apparently cling to the past.....when the only "Future" the Gamecocks have is resting on a 50-50 chance that they land 1 RB that UT doesn't even need, nor want badly. That is Sad.

So if you are sick of hearing how bad you have been in the past, just go back to thinking how bad you will be in the future too. UT will rebound and be in the SECCG in the next 6 years.....USCe won't sniff it.

I have a feeling Giles will pick USCe on Tuesday. Fulmer leaving was an excuse. He doesnt want to compete with Hardesty, Poole, Creer, and now Oku for a position.

I'd think the fact Kiffin called Giles first indicates how bad he is wanted.

Drayton went yesterday. Not sure we can go to the announcement, if that constitutes a visit or not. Either way, sources close to the program say that Kiffin couldn't guarantee anything to Drayton, thus Drayton couldn't guarantee to Giles that he would be on the new staff FWIW.

I think this is right on the money. He will be essentially guaranteed to get carries in Columbia, but will have some good competition here.

Yep. That sounds like a done deal.

Why isn't Drayton going? It's his job that's on the line.

I have been suspicious of Drayton's recruiting since the Fulmer announcement. Like I said in another thread, if Giles picks SC today then I bet Drayton won't be at UT much longer and I bet Giles knows it. It will be interesting to see where Drayton ends up after he leaves UT.

It's kind of a chicken or egg first thing. Giles put it all in motion by placing such an importance on Drayton and his being retained on the staff. I believe CLK is giving Drayton a chance. He could have fired him on day 1. It will be ironic if he gets fired after losing Giles.

The questions are....

1) Do you think Giles set Drayton up to be fired?

2) Do you think Drayton has plans to move to SC and Giles has known about them all along?

3) Do you think Drayton has other unannounced plans to leave UT and join some other staff? If so, do you think Drayton is just trying to find out everything he can about CLK's recruiting plans? Is Drayton a spy?

Out of the 3 choices, I would have to go with #2. I believe if Drayton wanted to join another staff besides SC, he would have already resigned his postion at UT, instead of busting his butt on the recruiting trail.

I don't think Drayton ends up at USC FWIW. Regardless of what happens with Giles. One of our coaches could end up there, but it's not Drayton.

So, you think he's spying for USCeast?
