Hubbs posted it on the VolQuest message board that Giles told Austin that South Carolina and Tennessee are ahead of Nebraska. Also said that Giles texted someone that the visit was "tight".

Never said that CLK would make a decision based upon a recruit. I just said that Giles could have put him in an uncomfortable position in front of Drayton in the living room.
I still think that Drayton stays on the staff.

"Coach Kiffin is impressive," Giles said. "I don't know him well obviously, but I have a good vibe about him. He is an honest, straightforward guy."

"He spoke about how everyone was on a level playing field," Giles said. "It's a new offense for everyone including the returning guys and that the best player will play which means if I came there and worked hard I would have a chance to compete to be the starter."

Talking about Reaves and Drayton...

"It's nice that they are there," Giles said. "But the biggest thing is the even playing field and the fact that if I went there I would have a legitimate chance to play immediately."

Guess this is the blueprint he was talking about that made him so successful at USC. You go in every recruits home and tell them that at the start of EVERY year there are NO starters. In essence the upperclassmen and the freshman are starting from the same point. Everyone tries out every year for their starting spot, nothing guaranteed for seniority. I can see why he is such a successful recruiter...

Yeah, especially with his "announcement" set for Tuesday. Why would he set an announcement to reannounce TN?

Granted, w/ Reaves at TN, it makes sense for him to come here.

I hope we get him though, if he comes, I think he'd be the best in the stable right away...and that's saying a lot.

I thought so too before I looked at him closer.

My understandings are that Oku is fantastic and will be great in a year or two but that Giles has a serious chance for starting year 1 if he works hard this spring.
