Jarvis Giles

okus higher rated look at there films on rivals clearly oku is more physical. i dont believe giles can endure the punishing hits the sec linebackers and safetys r gonna deliver hes only like 170. thats why brandon james doesnt play running back for florida.

nowadays--they are fairly small and speedy!! They get to the edge, bust through the line, catch swing passes and go. The problem with Fulmer is that he often liked big guys without a lot of speed. Look at Foster, Houston before him. We lack speed on offense--that was a problem. I'm not saying that Giles will be good, or Oku, but we need some backs with speed. We had a good one in Coker a couple of years back--but he turned out to be a very stupid kid.

Houston would have been a lot better if Jimmy Ray Stephens didn't eff up our OL blocking.

You wouldnt say any of this if Giles was the one committed and Oku was waivering.

Oku is more physical and Giles is more of a speedster
Everyone knows that.....If Oku was waivering yeah your right....we would be saying at least the speed guy is sticking. We would be happy to have either but I prefer a power back with speed. ala OKU!!!

I do want Giles though. And he has pushed his commitment time back from Tuesday now......Clemson made him a pitch tonight. UT, Clemson, Nebraska, and UT

If UT gets the in-home with Coach Kif, Reaves, and Drayton he is a vol!

His tape was some of the best I've seen since Gerald Jones. I would hate to lose him but from what I understand right now it is looking like he will be playing in the friendly confines of Williams Bryce for a whiney D-bag.

Rivals has Oku rated #1 for a reason. I hope Eric Berry lays Giles out like he laid Knownone Moreno if they see each other on the field.

I am not sure why Giles would not come back. He said would go where Drayton went. Well, Drayton is still here for now. Plus we have his recruiter from South Carolina. Sounds to me like he don't know what he wants. If he truly don't want to be here, I don't want him. Sounds like he is in to playing head games.

Not sure if this has been posted..but take it for its worth:

Giles will announce on Tuesday between Nebraska, Tennessee and South Carolina.

"Yep, Tuesday the big day," Giles said. "It's down to South Carolina, Tennessee and Nebraska."

"I love the tradition at Nebraska, especially at running back. I had a once in a life time experience there on my visit. The stadium, the crowd and fans were just amazing."

"I love coach Spurrier. He's a good guy and they do run the football. They also need running backs. I love the town because they are all football and the fans are great too."

"If you look at coach Kiffin he has coached players like Reggie Bush and Lendale White. That's good enough for me plus my man Drayton is still there."

I would say its between Nebraska and Tennessee. Once in a lifetime experience is a bold statement to make but hopefully playing closer to home will sway him enough to suit up in Knoxville.

WTF Eric, you would think you'd never followed a recruiting class before. These guys change their minds all the time. It's their future. You certainly can't fault them for wanting to make the right choice.

I know this, the thing that gets me is the gleaming report that he gave about Knoxville and it's people that all of a sudden doesn't seem to be true anymore. Also, he's the one that wants to be a midtermer, he didn't have to be but he chose that. We have a stable of RB's and honestly this class isn't banking on him to come anyways. Right now, I have a sit back a watch mentality on this class. I have also read where he said that Nebraska has a great history at RB. Tell me the great ones that play RB in the NFL or even the great ones that have played at RB in the past 5-7 years at Nebraska.

Oh man...if Giles took that kind of hit from Berry he wouldn't get up...Moreno has about 30-35lbs on Giles...a hit like that and it's lights out for Jarvis...

You shouldn't take what an 18 year old has to say about Knoxville so personal.

Nebraska has more running backs from the past 5 years in the NFL than Tennessee has.

We both know those "gleaming reports" depend on which school's reporter they're talking to at the moment, bud.

I don't fault Giles at all for looking at the situations and choosing which of them suit him best. And he has the right to change his mind IMO.

Look at it this way, he's not even the most talented back in his class if he were to come to UT, then he has to compete for playing time with 3 already-established backs.

The situation at USC looks much better from the perspective of being featured early.
