Orgeron can definitely coach when relegated to a single position. He developed some great defensive lineman at Miami and Southern Cal when he was the D-line coach at those schools. Remember, he made the jump from Defensive Line coach/Recruiting Coordinator to Head Coach in the SEC. He was not ready to make that sort of leap and proved he couldn't run a program well at Ole Miss. But, when he has a smaller role and can focus solely on recruiting and coaching the D-line, he's a fantastic coach.
