Jarvis Giles

per Hubbs, Giles is still in play for the Vols, but it will be decided by the new coach hire

Eric Baker will be decent...Gamecock over there never said he had an amazing year, just that he was a true freshman taking playing time away from Mike Davis, a senior...

"South Carolina, that's my No. 1 school," he said. "I like everything about the Gamecocks. Everything from their players to coach (David) Reaves and the rest of their coaches to their football facilities to their academic situation stand out to me. If Nebraska or anybody else thinks they can top South Carolina, they better bring their 'A game.' I'm not sure if anybody can beat them."

Giles said Tennessee no longer looks like an option for him.

"I haven't talked to coach (Stan) Drayton in about a week and a half," he said. "I'm focusing on the other schools right now, I guess you could say."

I'm glad that kids can find coaches to become solid with and not schools. Happens all the time, but it's something that's effecting the base tradition of football as a whole. There is not a lot of committing because of the school, tradition, or town anymore. Even Giles has been made to be a liar based on his comments before and after he committed.

its worrisome to me that our staff has just quit. what happened to professionalism?

That's a very fair question, and how they handle this situation should be a part of how other potential employers judge them in the years ahead.

Professionalism isn't in Fulmer or any of the other coaches vocabulary apparently. You would expect a 17 year coach to conduct this as a business and do the work expected. I guess he's just a bitter old man like Majors was when he got the boot.

It happens everywhere though. It will be a question asked, but it won't be as relevant as you might. It should be, but it won't.

Man...it would be really cool if Giles comes back after Kiffin is a signed deal...

I would love to see ihateorange4 back in here after that...HA!!!

Kiffin should tell Giles to keep his ass in Columbia.

Honestly...the biggest(and pretty much only) reason I would like to see Giles back would be to give ihateorange4 s*** about it...relentlessly...that is if he had the balls to come back on here

Other than that...they can keep him for all I care....with Oku on board Giles is nothing more than a ranking booster to me

That would be great.

Uhh why?
Another good RB can't hurt.

Next year will be Hardesty, Creer, and Poole, and hopefully Oku/Giles would take a redshirt.

That leaves Creer, Poole, Oku, and Giles for the year after, and the year after that we'd have Poole, Oku, and Giles.

That would be one of the best RB stables in the country each year.

I can't blame Giles for decomitting earlier though. Didn't he say Drayton hadn't called him in two or three weeks?
