Honestly, I believe he was promised a series or two this week. Butch is also snake bitten with dealing with QB's..... I see both sides here.

Jones' wouldn't name a starter because they were so close in competing, said both would play, offense struggling bad in first half because of line, WR and QB all just so so.
Wonder why he was pissed??
But yeah I didn't like what I saw from him on the sideline

ESPN sure relished putting the camera on it though

Maybe he's mad considering QD is worse than Dobbs with accuracy at this point.

Yep, QD has a long way to go to be the passer that Dobbs was the last few years.

The entire QB competition was obviously complete BS. It's no wonder JG isn't very happy. I hope he doesn't transfer out.

Shows me Butch may have learned a Lesson from last year. The team is not worth one player. With Hurd, he caved and pandered to the players selfish wants. Maybe Jones care more about winning and realizes that promises are stupid when you are war on the field. Whatever it takes, and right now it's Dormady.

Dormadys struggled the first half I'm sure JG wanted to play and give it a go. Can't blame the kid for wanting to play but to dormadys credit his second half was pretty darn good.

If JG transfers he'll have two years to play after sitting out a year. If he stays he should be the QB for 2 years after backing up QD next year. Plus... he will get mop up duty at UT next year and would be a play away from becoming the starter. It would be stupid for him to transfer.

If JG isn't going to be a team player, he can GTFO as far as I'm concerned. I hope he grows up. I'm not sold on Butch but I wouldn't have played his sulking azz either.

Absolute idiots in here. Immeasurably premature to say some BS like "GTFO" or "could care less if he plays here." Thank God yall have no say in what goes on with the program. Go to bed you sad adults he's a freakin teenager.

Really it's Dormady? How can you be sure? It may be but Jones has a history of keeping better players on the bench
But we find out when the starters get hurt or quit that the backups were better. Josh Dobbs and John Kelly come to mind, sure you guys can think of a few more

Hopefully cooler heads will prevail here. JG will most likely be needed this season. I'm sure he wanted a chance but the way the game went it didn't happen. I look forward to seeing what he has.

I doubt JG was promised anything going into this game. He has to carry himself better. No one will follow him into battle acting like that.

I believe QD is way ahead. Took QD awhile to settle down but he played well for his first start. There were a lot of drops early but he didn't panic. He threw the ball into a crowd a couple of times. Looked ok in his runs. Calloway became a man in this game. Good thing with JJ hurt.

How on Earth can we base anything based off how players act on the sidelines at random moments? I mean, if there's stories and conflicts and whatever, but hell, based off what I saw there wasn't much emotion at all on Tennessee's bench for half that game. Maybe he's trying not to create a problem with the starter by staying quiet. Or maybe he's anxious and waiting to get his shot. Maybe he doesn't know what to do. Point is, who knows. Yeesh.

Agreed, but his body language on the sideline was horrible. It didn't help that the commentators called attention to it. I think some folks including myself just don't want to see another Hurd type situation. I hope the kid keeps grinding.

Any good coach wouldn't lie to their players either. It goes both ways.

Yeah because you OBVIOUSLY know exactly what CBJ has told him..Or any other players for that matter...JG needs to be a team player or find another team...

Now.. back to QD (our starting QB). Mad props to him for keeping his composure throughout the game and grinding out a win. He made plays down the stretch when he had to. Early on, receivers were dropping alot of balls. He is a good football player that will get a chance to play on Sunday if he continues to develop. Cool, calm, collected, which is the main reason he got the nod over Gaurantano.

I want him gone. Watched him sulk all night he refused to talk to Dormady, congratulate or support him. He ignored Canales and several other coaches. Its a toxicity that we dont need. He forever lost me, and i refuse to watch him play. PERIOD.

It was so bqd, my friends 76 year old mother was the first to comment, she said, "Who is that with the orange thing in his hair? Whats his problem, he was ignoring that coach and staring off like he could care less what he had to say."

This was even before announcers comments, and before Callaways brilliant TD, along with JG's hurdish disinterest. All game long we kept rewinding and watching his awful, cancerous sideline behavior.

Hes no Sheriron, thats for sure.

For what its worth she also said the turnover trash can was goofy.

You and your friends mom need to calm down, along with a lot of other people. Don't trust what ESPN decided to show you at opportune times. He acted no differently than the majority of backup quarterbacks we've ever had. I guess you won't be watching JG playing here sometime in the next few years.

Can we please get past the "coach so and so promised this and that but lied" crap. These guys are promised nothing but a shot to compete for the job. My goodness this is ridiculous.
