And neither would be a good fit in this offense. Guarantano is a better running threat than Dormandy and has just as good of an arm, if not better
So, sight unseen, you'd rather have JG than Manning and Clausen as Tennessee's qb....and QD for that matter?
Gonna stick with my original thought that a QBs 40 time has absolutely nothing to do how good he's gonna be as an SEC QB, don't care what type of offense he's running. Still much more important to be a good, quick decision-maker and accurate passer
If it's Butch's offense then yes. Manning would have been crippled before he went to the NFL if he played for Butch
Nah. Even in Jones' offense, a qb who can make quick, correct decisions upfield with good accuracy/ball placement is more important than a qb with good straight ahead speed/a great 40 time. If either Manning or Clausen were Jones' qb, you'd see much, much less zone read run game and much, much more downfield passing imho. And you really might wanna re-evaluate your statement that you'd rather have an unproven rs freshman qb who's yet to take a snap in the SEC over one of the greatest to ever play the position.....it's a bit foolish imo.
That's not what happened. Worley rarely ran the read option. He got hurt trying to pass when we could not pass block. The Oline issues have been here that long.
