Sorry but he lost my love when HE. JG changed the called play and tried to sneak it in on the Bama goal line. Fumble the ball and gave up a td going the other way. Totally selfish and showing he was NOT a team player !
He thought he checked into the right play. Give it a break

Dude just let it go. Even if he had handed it off we would’ve turned it over on downs. Holding a grudge against a college kid you don’t even know for a mistake they made while playing football is just weird man.
Nah, I saw that play broken down countless times by different pundits and talking heads. Trey Smith opened up a hole anybody could have made it through. We had 6. No need to white wash that part.

Agree 100% with the rest though.

To be fair that is correct. That being said, it was a good move that made him happy and it was a good move that made the fan base happy. It was a win-win.
Agree 100%.

Guarantano went into 2020 season as a 5th year Sr. He'd already fulfilled every made up prerequisite, and adhered to every imaginary rule(even the unwritten ones), to claim VFL before the covid bonus year was a possibility.

He's earned the right to affiliate his likeness with UT, and I hope the university embraces him.

The fact that JG doesn’t come out and just blast the university speaks volumes. He made his mistakes….. but he was failed. Sounds like he has an incredible knowledge of the game, got his diploma and masters. Hope he’s on the staff and coaching ball as soon as he wants.

JG earned my respect in the bowl game against Indiana. At the end of the game, he ran over to the fans at the end of the game and shook hands with them and talked with them for a while. The cameras were long gone by that time. It was a moment that he truly appreciated the fans for their support. That's called respect in my book.

He maybe, maybe, could have had a year like Nico had last year. His arm strength, athleticism, and processing speed are all worse than Nico's (and Nico's processing speed is pretty low to begin with).
I don’t agree with this at all. He was a much smarter player than Nico. Nico never had a game like JG had against Auburn at Auburn. That was with piss poor coaching too.

Some of the worst years of my life being a Tennessee fan was with this dude being our QB. Seemed like he would never leave till he finally did. He went thru coaches like toilet paper, Butch, Brady Hoke and Pruitt and almost Heup before he finally left in 2021 for Washington St. I’m so glad that era of Tennessee football is over.

I was rough on his level of play, but always had a lot of respect for him personally. He persevered during the darkest of our history, through two coaches and multiple OC’s. None of it was a recipe for success.

I hope Volnation embraces him the way we have done Ainge and others. He’s a smart, tough guy who deserves the VFL family to take him in now that his playing days are over.
