A lot will depend on how ready McCullers is to play. In the 3-4 you can't have 250 pd. ends. Actually Bohannon is a good OLB in the 3-4 as well. Sentimore and Couch are ends in the 3-4 as well as Walls. So if you have McCullers, Sentimore and Couch in the 3, and Jacques, Lathers, Johnson and Maggit as your LBs. That is one solid 7 right there.
I'm sure CSS will be evaluating to see if the roster is better suited for 3-4 or 4-3.
One other possibility I have seen mentioned in the past but dismissed it because I didn't think we would go to the 3-4 but if we do how about Brent Brewer as a OLB?
sorry didn't see that you had walls, but miller de also.
Uh no. We are talking about a LB in a 3-4 where usually one LB is a pass rush specialist and the other is better at covering backs out of the back field .He would be great at ILB with Johnson, OLB not so sure...Lathers and Maggit on the outside looks good.
The 3-4 OLBs are the pass rushers. Smith's best position in a 3-4 is OLB. A DE who moves to ILB is very rare. AJ is going to be inside and Maggitt outside. Lathers could probably play either place. He would be great at ILB with Johnson, OLB not so sure...Lathers and Maggit on the outside looks good.
I know this has been touched on in a few threads but what are the chances of Jaquez Smith moving to LB if we go to a 3-4? Would anyone want to get hit by this guy with a full head of steam?
GBO!
