We need to quit fooling ourselves and call it what it really is. Selfish. I don't know how much I can hate it for him , when he doesn't seem to give a damn himself. He was one season away from millions. He has no self control. I wish him well , but some people just can't be helped.

I would not call it selfish, addictions are more self destructive. Money means nothing to those who are self destructive.

Saw him walking on campus today. I figured he would be off campus already. Also, it is interesting that he was not wearing anything Tennessee Athletics related, which basically every UT athlete does.

maybe he is making the "Jeff Garcia Argument" that he should be given 1 more chance and he submits to DAILY drug tests and 3 hour study halls in the evening???

(Hey, a guy can hope, right???) -- hell, garcia is the damn starter in Carolina.

I couldn't care less about the money he was going to make. I'm talking about his coaches , fans , team and most importantly his family. But I guess he didn't care about that either. Even if he doesn't realize it , it's still selfish.

In a statement, Jackson said, “I would like to thank McNeese for giving me the opportunity to come back home and continue my education and football career. I would also like to apologize to my family, friends and the University of Tennessee for the mistakes I have made. I realize how fortunate I am to get a second chance and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

So, where does he go? Finish this year at McNeese and go pro or try to transfer?

If he has a good season I expect we will see him go 4-6 round draft.. doubt a team would put to much money into him with the unknowns, but you never know.. someone could end up liking him a bunch and take him 3rd round

he goes pro, signs a 2-5 million dollar contract very little of which will be guaranteed. Busts, and is out of the league by year 3 or 4.

Haven't read thread but wasn't his dad a coach there at one point?

Hopefully he can pass the NFL drug tests otherwise he won't be in the league. If he failed many drug tests at UT, what makes you think the NFL would be much different? He was given many chances and screwed up. I hope he get his life straight and do something with his talent.

Weed is cheaper there, thus, it's a challenge to find a good bag of it.

Go Vols.
