Janzen Jackson should NOT be kicked off the team!

From everything that's come out, it sounds like he wasn't involved in the robbery, so why suspend him? Just make him run the stadium steps in the morning for hanging around that time of night with the 2 robbers.

these 3 clowns have no inherent right to play football for Tennessee. they were afforded the privilege of doing with a variety of conditions, such as meeting academic standards. i have seen no one on this site demanding that an academically ineligible player be afforded the opportunity to play, yet many are suggesting that jj be allowed to stay on the team b/c he has yet to be proven guilty of a crime. he is guilty of using poor judgement repeatedly, he is guilty of being part of something that has shed terrible light on Tennessee football, he is guilty making the team less prepared to win on saturday, and he is guilty of letting down every single member of this team that obeys the rules. conviction or no conviction for this crime, jj has actively earned his dismissal from this team. his play on the field will no doubt be missed, but his presence as a distraction will not.

He never failed a drug test..
And the car wasn't full of weed.. There was a bag of weed.. And who hasn't been around pot in the life, don't be a stiff..

If Janzen didn't have anything to do with this and he was actually in the wrong place at the wrong time, then he should be kicked off the team..

We all make mistakes..

In the link from post #28, the victim said they were approached by 3 men, not 2. OK, if the driver was a female and two of the men were Edwards and Nuke than who was the 3rd man that approached the victim during the robbery? The victim said that 3 men approached and asked them to "give us everything you got." If Janzen just walked up on this than who is the other man, or is Janzen more involved than people want to admit to?

Some of you are ridiculous. How is being in the same car with Nuke and Edwards wrong place, wrong time? He made the choice to get in the car. His first bad choice of many last night.

Good news that charges will be dropped. He must stay on the team then..
It would be retarded if he got kicked off with no charges against him, plain stupid.

suspend him for one game max and thats it !

If no charges, why even consider suspending him? He didn't do anything wrong. He should play this saturday.

This dude is bad news. Wasn’t he suspended for last week’s game against Memphis for a violation of team rules? Now drugs are found in a car he was arrested in.

I went to college for six years and you know how many times that I was out at two o'clock on a school night hanging out with thugs-ZERO.

Plus shouldn't Janzen call police if someone just got robbed? He walked off and left the victim to get in the car with the robbers!

JJ had no idea anything was going to happen, JJ had no idea there was pot in the car, JJ did not fail a drug test, JJ did not get into a fight in bar, JJ was not late for team meeting. If this guy was not one hell a player these excuses would not be said. I love the vols and Kiffin but lets stop making excuses. All 3 must go.

If it was me in the car and seen this going down, I would have gotten out of the car, went inside and told the guy to call the cops. At the least I would have walked back to the dorms. There is no way I get back into that car knowing that we are about to be pulled over for an attempted armed robbery. I love JJ's talent but he just can't stay. I'm not really buying the "I had no idea" story. The weed alone should be enough. I doubt the girl and the other guy were hogging all the weed!

This isn't his first time being in trouble. He was suspended last week during the Memphis game. He makes stupid decisions. I don't care how good a player is. They shouldn't be around if they are making choices like that.

Yeah, I know, if I picking the wrong ride to the gas station for late night snacks, I would expect to get charged with armed robbery and kicked of the team as well.

NOTE: I am not saying that this is what happened, I AM saying that this is a possibility...

Not getting your logic here. If he had nothing to do with it, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time, he should get the axe?

What college did you go to? I'm going to go ahead and call you a LIAR!

Wrong-o!!!! He beat up a bouncer at a night club on the strip, he failed a drug test, and now he was an accessory to attempted robbery.
Whether he asked for money from the victim or not, he should have been nowhere near a car full of weed.

haha....this is funny. weed is everywhere. i think he should have not been around something more than a little weed. maybe being associated with 2 other idiots....hmmm??

Your assumptions are astounding, and by the way, I was unaware that a small bag of pot in the glove box qualified as a "CAR FULL OF WEED". It must have been like a clown car bag of weed were more and more just keeps coming out...

Multiple failed drug tests, fight at a bar, missing meetings, and now on the scene of an armed robbery. Get him out of here now. He will bring down everything Kiffin is trying to build.

Pushing a bouncer is NOT a fight. I dunno if he has missed meetings as I have not followed him that closely. However, I would love to know your source that shows he failed multiple drug tests.

I am pretty sure jj knew what he was getting into. I have a friend that told me that about an hour before they were arrested, he was walking back to his apartment. He then said that 3 guys in black hoodies tried to jump him. My friend booked it to his apartment which was only about 50 yards away and was able to make in his room without getting mugged.

This friend wouldnt lie to me about this. He told me right after it happened.

As much as I hate to say it I dont think jj just walked into this situation.
