Janzen Jackson rumor..(merged)

Why 21? Is that the "magical age" when someone can handle a drink and not be stupid. I have seen 60 year old men that act like horses rearends when they drink. The "law" is not always right. When making decisions on laws, a lot of times common sense is thrown out of the equation and heart takes over when the mind is telling you it doesnt make sense. Lowering the drinkage age is not going to increase consumption in the 18-21 age bracket. They are already doing it. It is also not going to increase the amount of impaired drivers. You are just forcing an age group to be criminalized because of our own arrogant stupidity when it comes to alcohol consumption.

+1 :good!:

Looks like we're setting a nice example for Urbie.

As for JJ... dude, trying to carry the beer out of the bar was where you really got the case of the stupids. Almost everyone in college drinks underage... but don't make a scene about it. Stupid.

Perfect!

We've had some bad last few days with players, first Nuke and now JJ I hate to see this happen to players especially Vols.

Wate at 6pm said JJ was suspended for the Memphis game. I think they said breaking team rules.

Sorry if this has already been posted but I didn't see it.

Here's a little quiz for you.

Which behavior is more common?

a. college freshmen sneaking a beer
b. footbally players eye gouging opponents.

Answer? B - we've told it happens all the time and is just part of football.

You're from florida, right?

Should be interesting to see how the VN responds to this, but my opinion is this:

18, 19 20, 21, or 25. I don't care. If you're on the team you don't drink. Especially, if you're on scholarship. These players get an education and an opportunity to play in the best conference in all of college football. A ton of money is spent for the educating, feeding, transporting, training, etc. It is an investment of the school, program, and boosters.

Also, alcohol is poison in the literal sense of the word. It kills living organisms and cells thereof. The higher the concentration the more damage done. Football is game of inches. Why rick an inch?

BTW, I do drink. I see nothing wrong with adults 18+ drinking. However, the adults on the team have commitments to give their all to Tennessee and I would think some sacrifice would be considered such.

Ironically, I do not see any issue with the players use of Marijuana at any time. Marijuana is not a poison nor corrosive in any way. Propaganda may tell you otherwise, but some simple research will negate any misconceptions.

DUDE!:bs:

We all know what happened last time rod wilks was asked to not take his beer outside.

Some may know it as the roane county ash spill.

Rumor has it he picked a f-150 up off the strip and threw it west towards kingston.

Lol!

I hope JJ doesnt turn out to be another 5* talent that sabotages his own career with attitude problems and immaturity (Demetrice Morely). Hopefully he learns his lesson from this.

he is from Louisiana, where you can walk out of a bar onto the street with a beer, probably didn't know walking around with an open container isn't allowed, Im in Louisiana and the idea seems pretty foreign

I had to go on a call where a guy was running nude around the neighborhood. When I found him, he was in front of his apartment, butt naked, and had locked himself out. It was in broad daylight. Guess what? He had been hittin the bong.

Both can make you act incredibly stupid when you dont know how to handle yourself.

Way back when I turned 18 that was the legal age to drink. I smoked lots of weed in my youth and never passed out, but I did pass out from drinking. All weed ever did to me was make me mellow and give me the munchies. Alcohol whole different story, pass out, bed spins when I was younger, puke my guts out and the ever popular do some crazy stuff. I have not indulged in the hippie lettuce in over 20 yrs, but I did watch my dad die from sclerosis of the liver at the age of 52, 28 yrs ago. In my opinion alcohol is far more damaging to your health, don't believe me, ask Donte Stallworth or Leonard Little.

I hope he gets kicked of the team and charged with a hate crime for verbally assaulting a bouncer.

There's a lot of evidence against your point. I'm not sure about lowering the drinking age increasing consumption but states that have lowered the drinking age have seen an increase in drunk driving related fatalities in the 18 to 20 year old range.

Well I'm in the gulf of mexico reading all this so i called my wife. She said janzen...witch is her nephew was not drinking on the strip. He doesn't even wear a necklace and he did get in trouble but it was for missing practice....and i agree that actions should be taken.... I am an LSU fan thru and thru but since janzen has gone to UT I have started following UT harder its a good program and will be hell for us to beat ya'll next year. Janzen will hopefully pull his head out and be a part of ya'lls traditions.....

Not questioning you regarding the nephew thing but my parents didn't know I drank when I was at UT. Just saying. There are too many coincidences on here that makes me believe something happened on the strip. Not missing practice, which I believe they would have reported.

Bambam, you tell your wife that her nephew is one of the most exciting players on the field. I hope he has a very successful future as a Vol!
