So, he wasn't arrested? Just got in an altercation at a bar while drunk, correct? That's probably why its not in the news wire...since it wasn't an official arrest.

This is bloody upsetting. I really looked forward to him getting his first INT and making some more big hits. Janzen cocked up and I hope he learns from this mistake. Sounds like he spent a night out on the piss and got in trouble for it.

That's ridiculous. Do you realize that I can be fined and lose my job for serving someone who is underage? Its the same for all bartenders, we get paid well so most of us don't put ourselves in the position to lose our jobs, but we have to deal with a bunch of idiot kids cooking up new ways to get drinks.

No doubt. I can remember an incident where a couple of badges (curiously enough, that's all I saw...not the officers they were apparently attached to!) came in the front door at the Lap. At that time, you could go out the back door. Shoot, the whole bar emptied out the back door in about a minute, it seemed. And I distinctly recall someone taking his pitcher out with him (we just GOT it!, he said). In the crush at the back steps, the pitcher got turned and some poor girl got a nice, foamy beer shampoo.

Point is these things happen and you can't draw broad conclusions from them right away. He made the mistake, will pay the price, and then we'll find out if he learned anything. My buddy learned to take care of the pitcher better, for instance. Nothing happened to him, but it would've if he'd been well known like JJ, I'll bet. JJ needs to learn he's well-known and fully accoutable.

BTW, the incident above was in the 80's...lol. Underage drinking on the strip is nothing new.

Its gonna happen. Seen tons of it, did tons of it. I have always believed that the legal drinking age should be 18. If a person can go off, fight and die for this country, they should be able to drink a frinkin beer.

It is true that Jackson is suspended for the Memphis game. I am friends with a bunch of the guys on the team and I was talking to one of them and he told me that yes he is suspended. Hope he learns his lesson.

I just meant the places on the strip. I don't go to any real bars.

And I don't cook up new ways to get drinks. I just ask for them.

He definitely has a ways to go maturity-wise to be the "next EB" like some were labeling him. I understand he is just a kid, but he has GOT to realize you simply cant put yourself in these situations when you are a starting football player at UT.

Point taken. It is still a pretty big problem though. Most of it can be traced back to most bar not hiring adequate security.

For the record, I have absolutely no problem with underage consumption, as long as it doesn't inconvenience me in any way.

I have no idea if the chain is actually worth 3k (or if the story is even true). In regards to how he got it, perhaps it was a gift? IDK. It may just be an expensive piece of bling and the 3k tag was applied somewhere by someone who didn't know how much it was actually worth.

first off, he should be suspended for wearing a 3000 gold chain. who does that anymore? mr t? now 3000 diamond earings are a different story. i used to see the colquitt kid get so hammered he couldnt walk. also saw jimmy clausen in tonic with casey when he couldnt have been more than 15. fact is that football pays the bills on the strip and alot of time ppl look the other way when it comes to players. jj is a kid and will learn from this.
