I know this is going to get merged but I didnt want to sift through countless posts.
What exactly happened did they find out, is it only a one game suspension, and what are the coaches thoughts?
Any links to real articles, not the thread, would be helpful.
Thanks.

Nothing official, other than violation of team rules. He will be playing this week.

Apparently he was at a club after the SC game and got into an "altercation" with a bouncer for trying to leave the bar with alcohol in his hand. (why he was drinking underage I'll never know)

I hear peer pressure is real bad in school:zeitung_lesen:

who cares? he's 18 and from LA. He probably had a beer in his hand at 16. He just needs to make better judgements.

It's not the problem, its how janzen deals w it from here...

Flash:

Hot off the press:

This just in:

Right off the wire:

Hyams is reporting that Janzen Jackson, a five star defensive back from La. may change his commitment to LSU and sign instead with Tennessee. We will keep your updated as Jimmy gets more information. Hyams is further reporting that he has learned that Jackson was dealing crack and tortured and killed a couple of people while on his recruiting visit to Knoxville according to one of several reliable sources that Jimmy has.

He is still trying to vet out the story but he is going to go ahead and report it so Heather Herington doesn't beat him for a scoop again.

Did anyone listen to his show on Sunday? Very interesting stuff.

A guy called in and had two things to say; first was a nice compliment for Crompton and the second he started by saying, "Now Jimmy, I want you to listen to what I have to say, and then I'll listen to what you have to say about it. Okay?" Jimmy said fine and then the caller proceeded to berate Hyams about the way he handled the JJ situation. He said that it wasn't right for Jimmy to report that JJ had failed a drug test (still the only person I have heard say anything about drugs instead of alcohol) and that he should be thinking about the kid rather than his own job, etc., etc. Hyams of course argued saying it was his job to report the "facts" and that he wasn't in the wrong. Then this is where it got interesting. The caller said, "You know Jimmy, it all goes back to the black jerseys..." and Hyams went off on the guy like he was five years old. "You're a LIAR, you're a LIAR. Don't bring that mess in here, you're a LIAR." He probably said liar 10 or 12 times.

My wife and I looked at each other in astonishment wondering if we actually had heard a radio host act like a child on air by calling someone a liar. He might as well have said the caller's mom was fat or something along those lines.

Did anyone else hear this and think this is extraordinarily unprofessional? Very interesting stuff. You're thoughts...

Hyams is desperately trying to cling to any crumb of relevance he can. His news is stale and he's just flat rude to people that call in.

Rasputin already posted a thread on this exact same thing this morning. Would link it but on mobile. Like I said in my earlier post above Hyams said JJ FAILED A DRUG TEST. So either Kiffin is lying or Hyams is. You make the call but I'm livid that Hyams would bring this into the open after Kiffin said it wasn't true.

A friend of mine (who's a bouncer at the Tin Roof) said that it was quite possible he remembered this happening. That's all I'm saying.

I heard it. The minute that guy mentioned the black jerseys, Hyams went insane.

Maybe I have my timeline screwed up, but didn't Kiffin deny it after Hyams reported it?

So you never drank in college? These guys are kids too you know. That said, if they're going to do it, be smart about it.
