Oh no he has eyes in the front of his head and they're looking right at me. MUST BE PREDATOR EYES!
Does she not realize all humans have 'predator eyes'? This lady is certifiably coo-coo in the coconut.
Yep.
My daughter taught me that.
Predator eyes: both eyes facing the front, for stereoscopic vision == good depth perception in the chase. Weakness: can't see 180+ degree arc behind midline. See: wolves, lions, humans.
Prey eyes: eyes on the sides of the head, for great situational awareness in a wide panorama, covering up to 330 degrees, great for keeping watch against attack. Weakness: poor depth perception due to very little or no stereoscopic coverage area. See: horses, cows, sheep.
New studies also indicate that the shape of the pupil is also a give-away for role. Ambush predators, like house cats, have vertical slit pupils. Chasing predators, like the big cats (lions, tigers) and humans, have round pupils. And many plant-eating prey, like sheep and horses, have horizontally elongated pupils.
So yeah, we're definitely all predator eyes. Guilty!
