Fulmer Will Coach Next Season At… | Hard Knox Sports

Former Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer said this past weekend that he plans on coaching next season and wants to coach at a school that has a chance to compete for a championship. Here are schools that fit that criteria that we could see Fulmer interested in:

Yeah, Fulmer would have interest in them, but will they have interest in Fulmer. I still say his best shot at a high profile job was at Boston College, where he knew the AD.

I have heard a few people mention his name in relation to the Louisville job, I think he would be a good fit there and could win in that conference.

Louisville or the big ten gig would be the best fit for fulmer. He could enjoy being 3rd or worse every year in the big twelve as well. He's not going to beat texas or oklahoma on a regular basis. He might would fit in pretty well in the big slow (ten). Although he can't beat paterno or tressell either on a regular basis. Louisville might be the one place fulmer could contend for titles on a regular basis. Not much competition in that league, he'd fit right in.

Except the Big East has WV, Cincy and a surging Uconn. Not that they could beat SEC schools on a regular basis, but their recruitng also lags...

Could see him though in top 4 every year in the big east and maybe a BCS game every 5-6 years.

Any school that needs to get a lot from its players need not apply.

I wish coach Fulmer the best in his coaching endeavors. I hope that he goes to a minor program so that he can improve it. I am afraid that if he goes to a Virginia, South Carolina or other larger type school he has little chance of improving his legacy. If he goes to a smaller school and improves the program he will go out a winner. It was Definately time for coach Fulmer to move on from Tennessee, however he is still a Vol and I wish him well.

“I think the commitment comes from the administration in terms of facilities, hiring the best possible staff and giving them the tools to succeed,” Fulmer said. “It would be silly for me at this point to go start up a program. Building new programs is very important work. But that is not what I want to do at this point.”

wonder why he didn't put together a staff like Kiffin's... clearly the $$$'s were there? if hambone would cough it up of kiffin, he would have for fulmer............

Probably....I doubt that Phil wanted anyone on staff that was good enough to knock him off the hill.

Because Fulmer was never going to hire his replacement. Think about it. What he did to Majors, he was going to make sure didn't happen to him.

The only title Fulmer would contend for at Louisville is best customer at Moby Dick's

Fulmer has recruited the state of Florida well in the past and would probably love to butt heads with Urban Meyer, Bobby Bowden and Lane Kiffin for Florida recruits.

I like that we were even mentioned.. Awesome!

I will support Fulmer anywhere he goes.Just as long as it doesn't interfere with Tennessee's success.

Prediction: Fulmer will be the next coach at Virginia or Louisville, but we are cheering for him to take the job at Pittsburgh so college football has one hell of a new storyline and a fierce rivalry continued.

I don't know anyone who thinks Fulmer will be the next coach of either one of those schools.
