Tennessee center James Stone earned Freshman All-America honors Wednesday from Sporting News.

Stone saw action in 11 games and started seven contests as a true freshman, including three at left guard and the last four at center. The Nashville product anchored UT's offensive line during the team's 4-0 effort in November to become bowl eligible.

He played great this year. Took all the changing of postion in stride.
Really glad he is getting some cred.

Wouldn't that effect Stone as well. I mean, he played on the same line that gave up the sacks that Juwaun did.

How many freshmen centers are there?

How many freshmen centers are there who also started at guard?

Stone performed well, don't get me wrong, but there are a lot less freshmen starting at two spots on the OL than one.

The kids played great! This line is going to be sick in 2 years. The future looks bright.

Isn't he left handed? I thought I remember Dooley saying they were going to have to make him switch to snapping with his right hand, which is more natural for the QB. I guess it didn't effect him at all this year, so why switch?

It certainly didn't appear to cause any issues this year, but I wouldn't be shocked if they wanted to change it to the right hand, just to make sure nothing becomes an issue down the road
