That's crazy.

I said midway through the season I would sign Ibaka over Harden just because of his size and athleticism. With that being said... Harden has the ability to be a superstar while Ibaka mostly will just be a really good player.

Kevin Martin for short tearm and Jeremy Lamb to replace him could be a really good deal for the Thunder though on top of 1st round picks(I'm assuming).

Only thing about this trade... in my mind, it's hard to picture Harden being a superstar wearing that ugly Rocket red. Obviously the jerseys have no bearing on how well he will be though. lol

And to think they could have had enough money to keep Harden had they not paid the most overrated player in the NBA 25 million.

Presti screwed the pooch here. Kevin Martin is an absolute loser, dogging his own team before the season even starts.

He will be sorely missed cause as we have seen before with this team, Westbrook can go into full hero ball and shoot the team out of the game. He was a key componet when giving Durant or Westbrook a breather.

Gonna be hard for Oklahoma City to win a title this year without Harden. Not really a fan of this move.

It had to be done, they don't have the money to pay him a max contract, which he will be able to get once he becomes a free agent ( assuming the trade didn't stipulate he signed an extension with Houston, which is highly unlikely ).

Would they have been able to keep him if they had amnestied Perkins?

Regardless, I hate to see the core of OKC blown up. I really thought they could win a title.

Some thougths:

1) I understand you want as much money as possible, but I don't know if I could turn down 4/$52M to play with KD and Westbrook.

2) Kevin Martin is a bad, bad pickup. He's a terrible fit for that team.

3) Why didn't Presti just amnesty Perkins and give Harden the max? Other than Howard, what other center is going to kill them? And they can sign some 7 footer on the cheap.

4) Jeremy Lamb was a great pickup. He'll fit in perfectly in OKC.

5) Houston got rid of a bad ball hog for a potential superstar and gets to keep him because they have plenty of cap space to match any offer, plus they take a lot of pressure off Lin. Great trade for them.

Agreed on all points.

Perkins is dead weight. Oklahoma should only be focused on beating Miami, Perkins doesn't help that in any way. Evidence being him planted on the bench during basically any and all crucial moments of the Finals.

They can beat LA without him, can you imagine Nash guarding Westbrook? Me either.

I agree on Martin, bad pickup. I'll be interested to see if Brooks can get Martin to buy into playing defense and overall team play, my guess is no. I wouldn't be suprised to see him on the block before the deadline, I think he's that bad of a pickup.

Where Dwight comes in.

Not putting too much stock into a 40 year old point guard who can't play defense, a stubburn and fading star who is hell bent on his legacy and a big man that just had back surgery.

Also note that Mike Brown is still the coach.

I am now more confident in my Nuggets pick for the Western Conference.

They're a good team but not Finals material. If they somehow made it there it would be the most lopsided Finals in recent memory. Assuming fully that Miami is representing the East.

Barring injuries, Miami will win.

The Thunder should win the West, but I'm not confident. I think the Westbrook/Durant thing blows up.

I just really love the Nuggets. They have everything. Shooting, defense, inside presence defensively, ability to play both types of games. They don't have an inside scorer. That's about it. But neither does OKC and they do fine.

This is crazy. Barring significant injuries to both LA and Denver, I don't think there's any way OKC makes it back to finals.

I like it, Martin is a great scorer and Lamb well be a good weapon about mid way through the season. I like Harden a lot but I think we won out on this trade
