He's the biggest POs in college sports.

His cell phone should have been examined byDA in vandy rape trial. Somehow he was protected for some reason.

Because what was on the phone had nothing to do with the rape case. He wasn't even in town when it happened. There was no covering up what happened and he made not attempt to do so. The DA even came out and said so publicly.

Coached Vanderbilt players involved in the gang rape situation. I can't believe state pen hired him.

We do not need any of that mess at Tennessee. Plenty of good coaches available.

Yeah, how could the school that had the honorable Jerry Sandusky allow a guy like this to coach? On a serious note, he's not leaving Penn State.

Some of you need to research these coaches a little before starting rehashed threads for coaches that are NEVER COMING TO KNOXVILLE.

He's at his dream job.
He's at a top 10 program.
He makes $6M a year.
Title IX issues would exempt him from consideration

Obviously it had nothing to do with the event that evening. But a crime was committed, he likely knew about it before the police got involved and he didn't report it. That is a crime.

Only has a 2 million dollar buyout.

He would win at a very high level

Franklin is a great coach, but IMO he would come in, negotiate a big contract, then tank our program in 3 years then laugh all the way to the bank. Good coach, don't trust at all.

And BTW, he was an idiot for ever leaving Vanderbilt.

An idiot for leaving Vandy? Why do you think this?

Yeah.
Urban Meyer coached Aaron Hernandez and Chris Rainey.

One killed and the other threatened to kill.

Urban Meyer likes muderers??

No he doesn't. He's just a coach.

Just like Franklin.

Looks like leaving was a good move so far.

He already is winning at a high level.

The first half of the big10 season is generally a series of bye weeks for all practical purposes. The big10 spots in the top 10 will start dissolving when they start playing each other. That's also when they start complaining about how other conferences aren't playing their tough games during the "traditional rivalry" season. Not that they had any objection to other conference teams taking hits early and boosting big10 stock in the rankings.

Because he had a $4M contract, Vandy was giving him everything he wanted, and he had figured out how to recruit good players to Nashville which should be a gold mine for any good coach, and because he had won 9 games twice, beaten Georgia and Florida and and Ole Miss and Auburn and the Vols and could have been elected mayor or Governor for crying out loud. Why am I still having to explain this?
