Jamarcus russell a 1st rounder?

Russell may very well be the most talented and at the same time, dumbest quarterback I have ever seen. LSU should have been in the NC game if not for his constant turnovers.

Some officiating at Auburn didn't help their cause, either.

Being coached by a half wit doesn't help the Tigers. Did anyone else notice that Les Miles, the lost member of the Three Stooges, didn't know the challenge rule?

Neither, he's a pocket passer. Davey nor Young throw it anywhere near as well as he does.

exactly he has a cannon in the truest sense. i can't imagine anyone being able to throw it 40 yd sitting on their butt. yet supposedly he can according to the fox boys

Not only is he a 1st round pick, but he'll be drafted in either the 1st or 2nd pick of the first round.

ahead of quinn or brohm?

Russell and Quinn will be the 1st and 2nd picks to Oakland and Detroit. Which one goes first is anyone's guess at this point, but personally I'd take Russell over Quinn any day.

I saw that too. Unbelievable that he wouldn't know that BY THE FREAKING BOWL GAME, isn't it? My wife knows that rule by now, for chrissakes.

Quinn is the safe pick; Russell is the project. He's got all the physical tools to be a monster, but he's obviously played like an idiot at times this year. Quinn will go early to some team that needs to win right now; I see Russell falling later to some team that's already got an okay QB and wants to see if they can develop him.

(Unless Al Davis likes him. Taking Jamarcus Russell with the first pick in the draft is the kind of thing Al Davis might do.)

Charlie Weis also tried to challenge whether a downed player actually fumbled the ball when the call on the field was no fumble. That was against the rules way back when he was in the NFL.

I cannot believe a team would risk a first round pick on Jamarcus Russell. I feel like he has tremendous potential to be a bust.

what's the details on that? i heard about it, but don't remember.

i would take Russell before Quinn or Brohm.

There was a pretty terrible pass interference call on third down that allowed Auburn to score the points that gave them the win.

I see Quinn and Brohm as both potential Brad Johnson-type guys, serviceable enough QBs that move around a lot and sometimes start for awhile. Russell is a guy that could end up being a fantastic pro QB or could end up out of the league in two years. He has all the physical tools to be amazing, but what will he do when confronted with an NFL playbook?

I probably wouldn't risk a first-round pick on any of them.

Les Miles isn't very smart I remember our game in 05 in BR. I think LSU got a turnover (remember this is when the clock stopped after change of possesion) anyway after the turnover Miles is sprinting down the sideline asking trying to get a time out. The whole time some assistant coach is behind him trying to stop him.

Also Quinn (If taken in the first 5) in my opinon will be looked at in the same light as Ryan Leaf and Heath Shuler.

Yes, ridiculous. Miles annoys me listening to him do interviews. Like nails on a chalkboard.

It depends on if NFL teams believe Russell can grasp and NFL playbook and also truly read and understand defensive schemes. Quinn will be a bust and Brohm will be serviceable. I personally like the kid from Hawaii after Russell.

That was pretty stupid, however no need to insult the Stooges.

Colt Brennan is an accurate passer, but his receivers are given the freedom to change routes on the fly based on the defensive package. Not sure how much it has to do with him. He just has to go through his progressions, don't know if June Jones gives him freedom to audible much, if at all.

Hawaii always has QB's with just nasty stats. Timmy Chang anyone. Timmy Chang.

Questionable pass interference/tipped ball call on LSU's last drive.

Despite that, they still only managed 3 points the entire game.

Brohm will be the best QB of the three.

He isn't the physical specimen that Jemarcus is, but is smarter and football savvy.

BTW, Brohm has all the tools necessary. He still has great talent, but just doesn't have the freaky arm strength of Russell.

He also doesn't have his bonehead.
