they won't get much money. but if it leads to further technology and medical advances then good for them..They did and do know the risk of playing football...All of these guys were extremely physical players

They are already in the progress of improving studies about concussions. They are putting people in the booths at games to help watch for possible concussions.

I'd think they have a case. The NFL is making a small show of caring about concussions the past two years but didn't seem to notice ever year before that even though the problem has long been known.

I think Jamal has shown that he is willing to do whatever to make a quick buck. Reckon he'd give all that NFL money back in exchange his health? I don't think so...

Help me understand this. A man who willingly puts illicit drugs into his body is suing an organization that he chose to work under for not protecting his physical health? Reminds me of that news clip photo with the pregnant woman smoking while complaining that nearby road construction if damaging her unborn baby's health.
Maybe his brains ARE Jell-O.

True, but I don't think there's any doubt that they've turned and looked the other way over the years.

I don't understand this. Isn't this kind of like going into auto racing and bringing a law suit when you're in a car crash?

That's sort of like applauding Rosie O'donnell for not being as fat as Michael Moore.

I'm not big on lawsuits but these may have a point. This was a league marketing the hits that caused the concussions in some cases.

Probably to some extent, but I'd guess this is moreso an attempt to attain better retirement benefits.

After the Browns descison to put McCoy back in the game, the NFL still has alot of work to do, on the concussion front

They've also got an entire meathead culture to overcome that equates head injuries to toughness.

If the NFL and colleges wanted to make the sport safer it could have been solved decades ago. All they have to do is make foam mandatory on the "OUTSIDE" of the helmet and shoulder pads. You could probably eliminate a vast majority of the concussion this way.

Of course a hard hit is going to be a hard hit and if you are head is going X and all of sudden it's going -X at a high rate it's going to be an issue. Also there is no real solution to stop injuries when they involved 300+ lbs guys running around at 4.9s speed.

Put foam on the outside of the helmet get rid of all this helmet to helmet BS.
