We don't win the NC in '98 without Al Wilson and that was as much to do with his leadership than what he did on the field...which was no small thing itself.

People say he sandbagged it, but he came back in less than a year from a torn ACL at a time when the recovery was not what it is today. Entirely possible he wasn’t 100% most of the year and never quite felt comfortable on it.

In 10 games he had over 1000 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns while sharing time with Henry.
