He may be awesome, but logic tells me that if the only SEC offers for a kid in South Carolina are from Tennessee and Arkansas, then he can’t be all that special. No offers from NC State, UNC, or ANY ACC school? Hmmmm

Agreed, that 162 is too small for SEC play IMO. Get him a redshirt and put some weight on him, he could be serviceable in the next 2-3 years, provided that he doesn't lose any of that 4.31 speed he has at 162lbs.

We need better than serviceable to be competitive in the SEC. This kid would not even get a postcard from us prior to 2008

That’s why I mentioned I could see both sides, with your side being one that I was referencing. Thought you made some valid points, although a lot of posters just don’t want to acknowledge them.

That said, I’m hopeful that the kid is as fast as advertised and helps solve a major team issue of the last decade. Perhaps a big senior season gets him more attention and more major offers? We’ll see.

Heard this morning that he’s currently taking classes to get eligible for early enrollment. Kid could easily put on 10-15 pounds next spring and summer and be ready to roll for 2020 as a 175-180 true freshman burner who can help a WR group immediately that loses 4 of its top WRs to graduation. I think he’ll be needed ASAP next year and I think he can be physically ready to go.

They are calling this kid a 4 star, but rivals has him as 3* and we slid all the way to #33 in the rankings? Somthing doesnt add up. I know we lost a player but clearly what we got wasnt the same level of quality?

Whenever recruits commit to Tennessee, they automatically deduct one star due to sw programming by some rival grad.

I think we are going to get one of the top 5 grad transfer/JUCO WRs to plus up our 4-5 losses after this season.

Yes. if he can put 15-20 lbs of good weight on and not lose any of his speed, he could easily be a day 1 starter. I hope he can accomplish that as we will be in serious need of WR at that time.

God man, I remember the 2000-2004 teams that we had when I went to school there, I took a class with Kelly Washington none of these guys could have played during those years. Talent wise we were top 5 in the country.

Hyatt has a younger brother that is a rising 9th grader with multiple P5 offers already, including UT. Comes from the Best HS program in SC. Something to be said about kids that come from winning programs and have that winning mindset. Bryce Thompson wasn’t highly recruited either but he came in with that mindset and balled out.
