I say dress him but don't play him unless we absolutely need him. He and Kirkland will need to be back for A&M.

Griffith must be letting 3rd graders proofread his articles.

And yet we bash that young man horribly.

and yet, Jones continued to play him, knowing he was lame? Not smart to divulge that info. he could have been allowed to rest and recover, instead of playing horrible.

Head coaches say the darndest things

My problem with the whole Coleman Thomas situation is the coaches knew he was injured, they saw he was ineffective, they knew Wiseman could fill in for him, and they let him continue to play with the hope they could redshirt Jack Jones. I understand someone playing through injury if their back up is a huge drop off, but that wasn't the case here.

We were a missed XP away from losing to App State because the coaches either didn't want to make a change or they hadn't prepped Jack Jones to come in. When Coleman is healthy he's good mainly due to his mobility and ability to get to the 2nd level. Take those away and he isn't an SEC starter

We desperately need JRM and Kirkland back at some point. The other guys stepped up against Florida. Keeping my fingers crossed that they can do it again against UGA. But, over the long haul, we need those two back out there.

Kirkland and JRM both have injuries that are easy to reaggrivate.

Fortunately we have a talented Dline that can mask some our now lacking playmaking deficiencies.
It all starts with Barnett, Tuttle, Obrien, Vickers, Vereen,KMAC, Kongbo, Mixon...

McDowell and Jumper might be what we have to roll with for the next month. Those dudes will hold their ground though. They won't shoot gaps and knife into the backfield like the starters do.. but they will get stops.

Spot on. But I also think McDowell is pretty reliable, whether that be blitzing, pass cov., or run support. I hate it for JRM, but CM is far from chopped liver and I think he is just scratching the surface of what he can do.

You NEVER want to lose someone the caliber of JRM, but CM can duplicate what JRM does better than Jumper can duplicate Kirkland. Kirkland and CM is a formidable LB tandem, if JRM's injury turns out to be serious.

McDowell might be a better pro prospect than JRM.

You're right about all of that you said.

100% agree.
Burch has amassed a championship roster bit hasn't given championship level coaching. Thomas woukd likely be healthy by now if rested. and UT likely handles Ap state and others with a solid oline.

It will be interesting to see what the plan is or can be for Jalen Reeves-Maybin Saturday. Maybin's focus has been on trying to regain some strength in his shoulder as his should was examined again this week. We don't know how much strength he has regained. All eyes will be on Reeves-Maybin in warm-ups.

I hope he doesn't play. He shouldn't have come in the game vs Florida. He needs to heal for Bama, etc and his attempt to play last week could have really prolonged the process.

This. It's better for the guys if Maybin can't stay on the field that he remain on the sideline. The guy who fills his roles need the early reps to get a feel for the rhythm of the game. Plus JRM needs rest.

Jumper will do a solid job if JRM can't play in the Georgia game. I watched JRM play against Florida and I hope that injury is not a season ending injury.

I am all in for just letting Burch decide who should play, we can just sit back and hope for the best.

If JRM can't go, I have faith that Cortez can get the job done. He's shown that he is more than capable

Jumper and JRM are playing two different positions. Jumper is playing in Kirkland's place.

I hope we can just have JRM on standby against UGA. With those type shoulder issues, he needs rest is possible.

I think people are dreaming if they think JRM will play this week. I actually doubt we will see him the rest of the year or if we do, it will be very late in the season.

As an athlete, you need to know your limitations. Kudos to Thomas for having a high pain threshold, but trying to play when your ankles aren't functional, is really just hurting the team in the end.

JRM tried to come in Saturday, realized he was not going to be able to tackle effectively, and took himself back out.

You get labeled as being soft and not able to play through injuries like that BC. The staff should have seen that he couldn't go and made the call.

Coaches let JRM make the decision and he checked himself into the game last week. He wants to play in rival games, but re-aggravating his shoulder just sets him back. He was clearly in pain on the sideline. IDT we'll see him against UGA.
