Jalen Hurts can't hurt us with the long ball.

If there is ever a secondary for him to break out against, it would be the Vols, unfortunately. Have to keep him in the pocket and challenge him to do it, though.

Tennessee will be fine. People forget that Knight is experienced and a good QB. Hurts is inexperienced and in a hostile environment. Hopefully Tennessee keeps the crowd in the game for 4 quarters.

Nonsense...

Kid has a great arm. Of course he can hurt us with the deep ball. If Kiffin is smart, he will attack our corners (Buchanan specifically). Could definitely see Kiffin giving Hurts the chance to air it out more versus us.

My money says Kiffin has Hurts go deep off playaction pass on the 1st play. Same BS he called a couple of years ago...

Tennessee 2016 Passing Defense:

App. State 108 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
VT 214 yards, 1 TD
Ohio 230 yards, 1 TD
Florida 296 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Georgia 211 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
Texas A&M 239 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT

Total Defense: 36th with 362 yards/game
Passing Yards Allowed:47th with 210.4 yards/game

Alabama 2016 Passing Offense:

USC 118 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
WKU 287 yards, 2 TD
Ole Miss 158 yards
Kent 164 yards, 1 TD
UK 262 yards, 2 TD
ARK 253 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Total Offense: 45th with 427.1 yards/game
Total Passing Offense: 62nd with 227.1 yards/game

It seems to me, that our passing defense is not atrocious, it is those few plays where our DBs/Safeties are out of position or get burned for huge gains. I hope our secondary continues to improve and a lot of it seems to be learning fundamentals and positioning (i.e. turning head around). Looking at Hurts stats they are not anything special, but I only seen 2 INTs so it seems that he makes good decisions.

The thing that concerns me in this game is the glaring weakness that we have had on the edge. In the UGA game they begin to exploit it, and for some reason A&M didn't until near the end of the game when they gashed us for two huge plays. I feel like Shoop will be able to scheme around this and at least put a band-aid on it. If we can contain Hurts and the secondary does not allow any huge plays I like our chances. I think our defense is stout in the middle. This may be another shootout and if our offense can score on Alabama's defense then we can win this game. It would also be nice for the defense to help with some scores of their own! Go Vols!

The real problem every time Tennessee has the ball it will be hand off to Jalen Hurts. Or when Alabama has the ball. Completion by Jalen Hurd.

He didn't make it to Alabama for nothing, don't be fooled. If we don't pressure him, he will burn us, bad. Hes gaining more confidence with every snap, every game. Not saying it happens, but you're off your rocker if youbthink he can't.

If he just throws the ball past his receiver our DBs will grab them by the jersey and hold on till they get a PI call. Don't understand it they do it over and over again.

No but a 5 yard completion to Cooper can quickly become an 80 yard TD pass. Not to mention our secondary can make an average QB look like a 10 yr NGL veteran with an MVP and Superbowl ring.

If Cooper starts catching 80 yard TD's again I'm thinking that has to be an NCAA violation.
