Since we've got 235 days, 22 hours and 16 minutes (hours/minutes subject to change) until kickoff against BGSU......I happened upon this on the YouTube machine and thought it might be well received here on VolNation.

And to think, we get to watch this beastmonster in Orange and White for at least the next two years.........

Just think about the fact that he rarely was brought down on first contact, even more rare was being tackled by an individual. Most times he was brought down by 3-4 tacklers that he carried at least 4 yards.

Now, just think about how many more yards he would have tallied if those tacklers were not behind the line of scrimmage. With an O Line worth $.50 he would have easily been over 1,000 for the year.

The stats at the end are wrong. YPC was listed as YPG on 3 occasions.

He is a brutal ball carrier, and will get better as long as he can continue to thrive on contact.

If they block for him next year he will destroy the east. Never mind having Kamarra to help share the load.

I can't wait to see what he does next year.

Barring injury or pure failures, the added depth next year at running back should pay dividends towards the end of next year. Especially with the physical nature of Hurd's running style.

The Georgia game really stands out to me in this video. He ran extra hard that day. Seeing the UGA player get a piggy back ride 7 yards down the field never gets old.

7:06 was one of the most impressive moments all season. The balance to get the first, then the quick move to evade the last tackler was sweeeeet.

He is EASILY a 1000 yard rusher with some good blocking..hell some mediocre blocking.

Digging on this pose:

Saved the season at the 7:06 mark. Not a lot of backs would keep their balance there.

Wow. That is so true. 4th Down!

I remember watching the replay during the game. My son and I were discussing that DB's slight hesitation / indecision before diving at the tackle. Little things like that make the difference sometimes.

One split second hesitation is the difference in us going bowling or not! If he makes that tackle, the "temperature" on these forums is arctic instead of tropical! :eek:hmy:

A game of inches!

Definitely Hurd's most clutch play. When it happened I even remember thinking how impressive his power & balance were for a freshman and how that play sort of seperated him from the rest of the stock. Only a handful of RBs are in his league IMO. He will be one of the best ever at UT if he stays healthy.

Bash me if you want, but "highlight" videos shouldn't have so many short runs, even if they are for first downs.

a bunch of people who post on here got it right. Hurd will never play RB because he is too tall. Here is where you find the real talent evaluators.

I see what you're saying, but any positive gain behind this years OL is a highlight.

Anyways, you could see Hurd's improvement throughout the year. Will be very fun to watch him in the upcoming years.

Too tall, don't want. Plus the state of TN never produces top tier talent....Maybe he can have a career at WR, RB is not an option. Cant get his pads low enough. Doubt this kid ever see's the field.........jk, man I remember some of those critics in his thread. Never had a doubt this kid would be special!

The season was made at the 6:38 mark of the 4th quarter of the SCar game. That play was the pivot of the season. Without that spin, we don't go to a bowl.

The play of the year as far as crucial moments.
