These fans are so far gone that they'll take any defensive backfield player with a pulse and make a thread hoping to hear someone equally unfortunate chime in and say we need all the help we can get.
When in actuality, we need high four and five star, SEC level talent. Of which we have some in this class, and we're currently recruiting some in the 24 class.
Get it together folks.

Are the skill position players that played well for us this year high four- and five-stars? They are not. What we need are defensive coaches that are not worthless and incompetent and actually develop players.

Point made on McCoy. However, we have multiple top 200 players in our secondary as noted by others on here. They’re not being developed, at all.

Or maybe they’re not putting in the extra work needed. Before this season no one would’ve said Hyatt was being developed. Then he put in the extra work. None of us really know

Who was in the top 200?
Burrell? No
Flowers? No
Hadden? No
Slaughter? No
Charles? No
Rucker? No
McDonald? No
Walker? No

We need a DB coach and D coordinator.

Totally agree...risk is losing some of those '23 defensive players Banks & Martinez have a relationship with. Lock down the committed '23 players, let the LOI ink dry then start OC and DC searches after signing period.

Looks like he’s planning on jumping into the portal per On3 and a former four star. Considering our woes on the back end maybe worth a look.
Have you seen Miami's woes???

This dude couldn't get any runtime in a terrible secondary on a terrible team.

They're 5-6 in playing the ACC and he has
ONE TACKLE this season....

Or maybe they aren’t as talented as their HS rating suggested. Maybe the schools who were pursuing them early in their recruitment backed off down the stretch.

Have to keep in mind that the recruiting services aren’t talent evaluators. They are recruiting experts and they rate players based on how highly recruited the players are

Why would we be looking for an OC?

Offense and defense are different. And against the only real defense we faced our offense of lesser talent looked like just that.

Or was that not what you meant....🤔

We need a DB coach and D coordinator.
We need a defensive tackle that is a first round prospect, and a defensive end that is the same. Also some backups that have the same potential. Then we could use an outside linebacker type (#40 looks good but he's all I've seen, and not that much), or three. A big-time middle linebacker and a backup that can potentially be an impact player. We need an entire secondary, with backups. And we need to make sure our strength program stays at the cutting edge. All of which is why we were not ranked very highly to start the season. Hyatt going nuts on Alabama doesn't change any of the defensive talent problems. They are still there. We need the players on defense.
