Damn, that would have been a great story, from college walk-on to NBA player. Hopefully the CJ Watson route will work out for him and eventually he'll make a roster.

Can't say I'm surprised. Plenty of guys with J's size and athletic ability trying to make NBA rosters. Most of them handle the ball better.

He was a little too sporadic for NBA GM's to take a chance on. Still, from walk-on to NBA preseason squad I would call that an overachiever.

If he betters his ball handling, does he have the rest of the skills to make it?

Yes, but there will also have to be some luck involved. It's not like 6'4" guards are hard to find. He'll have to catch the right opportunity.

How tall is Jason Terry?

Is that a fair comparison?

Gotcha. I always liked him. I'm glad as a senior he went out with a lot of excitement not seen by UT bball in previous years..

Hours and hours of drills.

I tend to agree. However, if J has always been a shooter on his teams, he may not have had as much ballhandling work as one would think.

I went to McMinn with J and he developed so much between off season of his senior year and walking on at UT. No one would have ever pictured him being the guy at UT based on watching him play high school ball. Don't get me wrong he wasn't horrible just maybe a D-II type talent or even NAIA.
