Jackson will start! (merged)

When the DA's office says that the video evidence and eye-witness accounts prove that JJ didn't know what happened until after they left, that's good enough for me...

Note that it's not his lawyer saying this, but the DA's office that would be responsible for prosecuting any crimes...

Nice avatar witch doctor....i tried to post a follow up to your post on GVX and it shut down....maybe a curse that back fired?....:)

You know what, your right. JJ is a model citizen. I would love for my 16 yr. old son to learn his life lessons from JJ.

JJ is 18yrs old himself you idiot....he is a KID, a Freshman in college. If you depend on your 16yr old son "looking up" to 18yr olds for life lessons, then you are dumber than your posts in this thread make you seem. How great it must be to live in that glass house of yours, throwing stones left and right.....having NEVER committed a sin or done something stupid when you were younger that you regret. You are a joke. When JJ stays outta trouble and ends up one of the best players in UT history (like I HOPE he does) you will be the first in line trying to kiss his butt.

Not being smoked? Are you serious, what do you think they were doing with it?

Come one, come all. See the amazing bear 315. He can smoke pot from the back seat while it lies unlit in a girl's pocket in the front seat. Word has it according to bear 315 that JJ was obviously also drunk because Pilot sell beer and he was in the back seat of a car parked at a Pilot. Seems rather obvious doesn't it.

A little foggy logic coming by way of Alabami???

It's awesome how so many of the people in this thread seem to have magical knowledge of exactly what happened that night, despite the fact that you've never talked to any of the witnesses or watched any of the security camera footage. You guys really should be working for the cops.

He didn't plead to anything; he wasn't accused of a lesser charge than the other guys. The cops gathered the evidence and then unilaterally dropped all the charges against him. They issued a statement making it clear that they didn't really think that either he or the woman knew that a crime had been committed. What makes some of you people think you know better than the guys who actually reviewed all the evidence?

I could care less. Thank God He Is Back. I hope he stays clean the rest of the ride. I hope he starts knocking jock straps in the dirt Saturday...

Alot of those who claim to know what happened are the same ones screaming that Stephens play and Crompton benched. Perhaps some here just enjoy a big plate of Crow?

Am I saying JJ will stay out of the trouble the rest of his time here? No, he may not.

In this circumstance the KPD and the DA did not have anything they could charge him with and the charges were dropped.

If the previous coach was still here the 3 players would have still been playing and Fulmer would wait until the trial to have done anything. We now have a coach that is proactive but whiners still want to complain.

What do you think the possibility of Eric Berry returning for his senior year to be that big brother to JJ is? He has said that he thinks of JJ as a brother and was real tore up about the whole situation MAYBE he might want to be that big brother one more year.

It was an hour that he shouldn't be out.
He was there with bad company, associating with bad company.
He was under suspension and, lo and behold, right smack dab in the middle of trouble - AGAIN.
He didn't learn from his first 'mistake'.
He won't learn from this 'mistake'.
Sooner or later we will be rid of him, too.

You don't know a damn thing about Janzen Jackson other than what you've read about him on internet message boards, and yet you not only know better than the coaches who know him and the police who investigated the case, you know his future too. It must be nice to be so holy.

There isn't a program serious about winning football games that would kick Jackson off the team for an incident in which he was completely cleared by police. Maybe you should be rooting for Carson-Newman instead if you find his presence distasteful.

It was an hour that he shouldn't be out. No Curfew, HC had no problem with it, so why should you?
He was there with bad company, associating with bad company. None of them had criminal records, they were team mates
He was under suspension and, lo and behold, right smack dab in the middle of trouble - AGAIN. He was found to be innocent of any wrong doing
He didn't learn from his first 'mistake'. No crime going to a Pilot at 1am
He won't learn from this 'mistake'. Can I get winning lottery numbers since you can forsee the future
Sooner or later we will be rid of him, too. That remains to be seen, he could end up being a positive role model from this experience, you are wanting to crucify someone and be your own vigilante

What would have been your take on this matter if Fulmer was still the HC? Would it be, Fulmer brought us a NC, he will do what is right.

It was an hour that he shouldn't be out.

There is no curfew, so when does that hour start?

He was there with bad company, associating with bad company.

What trouble had NuKeese and Edwards been in previously?

He was under suspension and, lo and behold, right smack dab in the middle of trouble - AGAIN.

Per the DA unbeknownst to him.

He didn't learn from his first 'mistake'.

How do you know?

He won't learn from this 'mistake'.

Unsubstantiated conjecture.

Sooner or later we will be rid of him, too.

I hope not.

Dang GmanTN beat me to it.

I guess if there weren't people who love to argue then we wouldn't have VolNation !

I'm not trying to be argumentative, and I'm not saying that I know exactly what happened in that car on that night. But, the reason that statement was issued was b/c it is nearly impossible to prove that someone had prior knowledge of something like that. I just can't believe that someone like Jackson, who has been in trouble on a few occasions already within a 6 month time frame, had no clue that something was going to go down. I just don't buy it. Call it being pessimistic or whatever, but it just doesn't sit right with me. I don't think he should be kicked off the team, and I'm not sure what reasoning Kiffin would give for an additional suspension. There's not a curfew issue. He didn't have illegal drugs on him. He didn't participate in the armed robbery according to the evidence.

I've gone back and forth on him playing mainly b/c I don't know of a legitimate reason you could suspend him. But, it sure does smell. The fact of the matter is that habitual offenders are just that ... habitual. And, unless JJ gets his life straightened out and starts hanging out with non-idiots, this will happen again. Maybe this will wake him up.

The kid is only 18 years old. It was a learning experience. Give him a break. Charges dropped, let him play. So what if he screws up again, CLK will deal with it then.

Changed? He didn't do anything wrong. The charges were dropped, so he was clearly 100% innocent..... (Sarcasm)

Wow. Going by your posts, our judicial system should be something like this: guilty until proven really guilty and if charges are dropped or you are proven innocent, you are still guilty and it's the judicial system that has failed and let us all down. I gotcha. Even though JJ's charges were dropped he is still guilty and should NEVER be allowed to play another down or attend another class. He knew good and well that Nuke and Mike were gonna rob those kids and he did nothing about it. I can't believe he had the audacity to let them take the fall for something he obviously had just as much to do with as them. Come on...are you a UT fan or not? Downright silly.

The only reason I'm willing to accept it at face value is that this was such a half-assed, amateurish, clumsy sort of crime -- given the pellet gun, given the reaction of the Cheeseburger Guy, given that it was committed against some guys who just happened to be sitting in their car at the quickie mart -- that it almost has to have been a spur-of-the-moment thing, and so maybe it's possible that Jackson just thought his buddies were hassling some guys in another car. Whatever this thing was, it was clearly not a classic "put your hands in the air"-type robbery. Since the cops reportedly scrutinized 10 hours (!) of video of an incident which can't have lasted more than about three minutes, this thing must have been filmed by about 30 cameras from every conceivable angle, and if the cops looked at it long and hard and decided that there wasn't any reason to think that Jackson was involved, then that's good enough for me.

(Note to self -- don't pick your nose or adjust yourself too much while pumping gas at a Pilot, because there's a camera pointed at EVERYTHING there.)

JJ knows where he stands. If he has a shred of cred, he will be little boy blue from here on out. So many strikes is all you get.

uHM:ermm:

Wow. Nothing gets by VN, even little animated smiles shooting machine guns. Maybe it's my redneck side coming out, where you go outside and shoot guns just because. Or it could be that Janzen is going to shoot down the kitties. Then again I could enjoy being politically incorrect considering he was involved in a case with a gun. It's really a cosmic mystery of the universe that even I can't answer.
