Amazing the response this thread has gotten.
My parents are from Waverly, but that's about as far into west TN that I've gotten in recent history.
MY family is from Huntingdon, Milan, Atwood etc. Several of them work in Jackson.
Personally, I've always liked Jackson, but as I';m sure you know, Knoxville it ain't . . . and it's an 1 1/2 hours in either direction to a major city.
Pretty much it's malls, strip shopping centers, chain restaurants and Double A baseball.
Any good local sports bars or Italian restaurants (outside of the chains you mentioned) or clubs?
Are there any young people there or is it mostly a retirement home? Have the people from up north taken over down there yet and jacked up the price of land like their doing in East Tennessee or is it pretty reasonable?
Just curious...![]()
Brady-Horne is the company.
They are a mechanical subcontractor. They design and/or install mechanical systems (HVAC mostly) for commercial applications. It looks like a very interesting job.
