Have I missed something going on with Jack Jones? He was really good last season when he played but we didn't hear anything about him during the off season and he didn't play last night.

Who knows. The guy showed grit last year, something this OL is seriously lacking.

Hopefully, Jones, Boulware get a shot in the next 10 days. Thomas was very disappointing and maybe he just had a bad game.

I think part of this was over confidence. I think they thought they would steam roller State and they ended up getting their butts handed to them. Hard to stop the momentum when it gets going.

OLine was biggest reason that this game was even close. Just a slight improvement and we score 14 to 21 more points. Big improvement will be needed in the next 10 days. We really need Hall back too. When he went down I knew we were in trouble.

How are we ever going to know what Boulware looks like? Seems staff is afraid to play new OL...you can not tell me that Jack Jones did not earning a starting spot with how he played last year.

If healthy, should be at right tackle.

Jack Jones at RT
Drew Richmond at LT

Both guys are more talented than both of our starting tackles right now. They just need the chance to prove themselves.

Jones must be in the doghouse. His name has rarely been mentioned and he was not on the two deep if my memory is correct. I look for a transfer here, but why?

I glanced at the participation report late last night and I don't think Jones was on the list.

He has to be in someone's dog house as we've not heard of injuries or being in the two deep and few mentions of him during camp. That we don't know why or if he's in the dog house speaks volumes to how the program respects the kids and their families IMO. Some coaches and programs throw their kids under the bus early and often.

I am certainly not a coach but it seemed to me that Robertson was getting whipped last night? I always hear, he is our best lineman so I guess I will have to defer to the experts, but Jones did play very good last year at right guard..
Did anyone else thing Robertson struggled? I know Thomas did..

Only thing I can think of is Jack Jones is in the doghouse due to his ESPN comments regarding UGA player being dirty on the Tuttle hit.

Coaches probably don't like a part-timer Freshman running his mouth to national media.

No way... Jones has a man crush on Weisman

There was a rumor about a month ago around here that there was a chance he is taking a redshirt this year. I laughed it off based off his playing time last year and I thought he would have a chance to start or play a bunch this year. Not playing last night made me think about that. If he doesn't play in Bristol, there might be something to it.

Theres only 2 reasons to redshirt. Injuries or behind on the depth chart.

Good.

Save the players for our next coach.

He's the 6th offensive lineman, first OL off the bench. IMO, move Wiesman to center and put Jack in at RG in his place IMO. Thomas needs to sit after last night's performance.

During all the fall camp reports they kept saying "players xyz are in a green jersey. We can't talk about who wasn't practicing due to injury." If he was hurt then how would we know with Butch's policy on injury reports?

If they in fact are trying to RS Jack Jones would this be one of the worst coaching decisions that this staff has made to date???

I don't think they can hold off using him but if they could, he'd be a nice fit as successor to Thomas.

No...you get two years of him starting at center, they'll be crowned genius.
