It's much less noted than happy endings, tough circumstances happen in life. The people who fight through it and make lemonade out of lemons are to be applauded I think.

Yes. Absolutely. The folks who do--who make it through hard times without folding or crumpling--those folks frequently have the deepest and strongest character of all, character built on perseverance through hardship. Jack will hopefully be one of those rare adults. Bedrock. Salt of the earth.

Thanks for the link OP. I didn't know about his injuries to that extent. Makes sense as to why he did really well early and then faded as a player. Really couldn't understand why Boulware was sitting early last yr performance wise. But, boy is this young man a VFL!

Jack's mom and my wife are first cousins, so I have had the opportunity to know Jack and his family. He is one super young man, and his love for UT is the real deal. Having to give up football has been extremely difficult for Jack and his family, but he comes from a family that supports each other not only in their sports activities, but also in life in general. Jack will be very successful in his life whatever direction it may take.

You people who love to either hate on or ridicule Butch Jones, take note of his all class conduct regarding Jack's situation. And the fact [far as I know] he hasn't spite a single negative thing about the UT despite the insults heaped on him. Class, you either got it or you don't.

Yep, I'm glad he's gone too and I look froward to the Pruitt era. But that's not the point though some will likely to try make it the point.

Thanks SmokinBob, great to learn more about this young man and his love for UT. Sad to see his football career have to end this way but as JP commented, he has the depth of character to come through this adversity and keep control of his life. All the best to you and thanks for being a VFL Jack Jones!

This dude was my favorite recruit under Jones because I felt he was apart of Tennessee for nothing more than to be apart of Tennessee. Not found much these days.
