Jabari Small and Jalin Hyatt.

Both looked great with there given opportunities. Small is for real. Chandler is soft, it's obvious he doesn't like contact!!

Hyatt is gonna be very good.

Our 2020 class was great, in general, but he was probably my favorite. Still crazy to me how many schools overlooked him. Neither Clemson nor South Carolina even offered him. Dude's high school is 20 minutes away from Columbia. He was the best WR in SC. Muschamp never offered him.

Other than OLine play, Hyatt’s separation speed was the thing that got me most fired up yesterday. As Frank Broyles once said about former Vol Jeff Powell, “when he’s even, he’s leavin’!”
Keith Jackson said that about Tim McGhee during the Sugar Bowl against Miami.

that was a big gain for Jabari's first collegiate rushing attempt. I saw his number and it took me a second to figure out who it was. I wasn't expecting anybody other than Gray/Chandler to be getting any attempts in the first half

Also, I think Hyatt has a high ceiling at Tennessee. Just have to get him targets and I think he'll make plays
He blew by that guy on the first completion.

I’m really just excited about the attitude all our guys are playing with. The young guys seem eager to perform and earn the respect of their teammates. I think we had good kids like that over the last decade, but there were no studs in front of them to impress, so there was no edge on either side of the sword (upperclassmen or underclassmen). When we were dominant, if an underclassmen played and contributed meaningfully, he had earned the right to do so. Little more than 5 years ago talented underclassmen starting was a foregone conclusion/necessity. Which is why a kid like JG has so much film. He’s a perfect example of a kid that needed to watch for at least 2 seasons. We’d be much happier with him if we hadn’t watched him struggle playing alongside other ill-prepared guys. I think Hyatt and Small are a good bellwether for where we’ve gotten to. Both talented but won’t dictate our success/failure. They can develop and contribute then dominate when it’s their turn. This is the difference between a program and a roster. The last couple guys were looking to fill out a roster (even Kiffen did this to a degree). CJP has a program. I like it.

Hyatt has been really impressive so far, especially for a true Freshman.

Jabari reminded me of some of the other great RBs that wore the Orange...like a Cobb or Stewart type runner. "Come hit me, 'cause I'm a hot you back!!!" type guy.

More like Tony Thompson...We haven't had a big back like Webb/Cobb in a long while.

Hyatt will get his 1st TD on Saturday. I'd love to see him do a remake of the slant our other number 11 Justin Hunter did to Ole Miss for a 50 year TD..

Webb topped out at 200. He was squat with those Earl Campbell type thighs which countered somewhat.

Really? I would have thought him heavier even though he's short.
190 as a true freshman. He was thick with his height as a factor...comparable to Joe Morris of that day.

I'll admit, I really thought Small was just a package deal to lock down Omari Thomas but I already look way wrong. What an impressive first run.

Hyatt just has the it factor, you can see it already

I forgot about that. I thought the exact same thing. Good thing we are not coaching!
