WTF is he talking about? The bounty system is true, but they never tried to hurt anyone??

I don't know . :) he is a poet and didn't know it!!!!! Greer has always been 1 of my favorites . man this sucks for the good people of new Orleans love
That city. Football is a violent sport since kids they were taught to slobber knock people and they reward you for it and that makes it wrong. . Now I don't think you should try to hurt someone but if you tackle someone hard and then they get hurt well sometimes **** happens but the hole bounty word is a tough word it makes it sound worse than it is. Really football is a tough sport and I don't want it watered down. This stuff goes on alot.

We probably had a bounty out for qb in the UF game of2001....

We had John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth, we didn't need a bounty to tear that arse up. :) If I'm not mistaken, 10 out of our 11 defensive starters that year went on to the NFL.

Just because there was a bounty program doesn't mean every single player took part. I can only speculate, but I'd like to think Greer was just playing hard football and not intentionally taking cheap shots or trying to cause permanent injuries. All he's doing in this response is trying to stand up for his teammates, can't blame him for not wanting to throw guys under the bus and act like he's above them. JMO

Better than Darren Sharper who flat out denied it and said it was ignorant that people actually thought there were bounties in play.

Greer wants to talk about integrity. Integrity is not lying to your owner and to the head honcho and trying to cover it up. Payton and Williams are lucky Goodell will let them even think about coaching in this league again. Next time all of you are at work, lie and try to cover up something that your company guidelines says is against the rules. See how that works out for you. Bounties are one thing, but when you are caught, lie, and continue then you put your self in submission to authorities. Just like Bruce Pearl did with his moronic lie.

have to agree with you, it seems like the lying was worse than the actual bounties..........much like the pearl situation

Agree. You cannot say you simply made a mistake when you were made aware of the mistake and then lied, covered up, and continued your actions. That's an intentional act. Stop with these are men of integrity and act like this is so unfair. Like I said, I challenge any person attempt to do this in any other profession. You would either lose your license to practice or lose whatever job you currently hold before you could even attempt to apologize.

I haven't read anything suggesting that Payton knew about the bounties. I did read that he was suspended because he was the head coach while it was going on.

Bari is my boy and has been since we were in the 9th grade together. I am a huge football fan both pro and college. As fans we look at a lot of situations from the outside, just like we judge alot of players without ever knowing them. JB is a guy of integrity. I have not talked to him since the allegations came out that the "Bounty system" existed however, I can without a doubt assure you that if suspension of players do happen he will not be one of the guys suspended. I meet Sharper a couple of years ago while on a family trip to New Orleans with JB, seemed like a real stand up and down to earth guy. So what made Sharper deny all the allegations at the time? I have no idea maybe he was trying to protect his teammates, the organization, or their legacy. I coach middle school football and I've given my players $5 for interceptions, $2 dollars for sacks, and $1 a tackle am I wrong for that?????? I don't believe so because I don't tell my players to go out and intentionally hurt other kids. Do NFL teams tell players to go out and hurt other players? Its a toss up, I'm not in the meeting or locker room like 99% of fans aren't, so I can't say. We just spectulate on the situation.
