A couple days ago I posted asking about JA’s eligibility potential for next year and some posted that even if they could have him back they would prefer not to, as it would upset the balance of the QB room.

Many pointed to F. Brandon coming in and therefore would force GMac or Merk to leave. If not both.

My thought is, you play with the best and most prepared QB at all times. Period.

If JA can come back next year I say we welcome it and let it rip. Brandon will be too young and whatever happens with GMac and Merk……is what it is.

Thoughts?

Well they were still coming when nico was projected to be the starter for atleast two more years so honestly i doubt it would affect the room much. But the old saying iron sharpens iron is completely true

Well, we know that CJH puts QB’s in the league, at Tennessee anyway. Therefore, they know if they stay, there’s a large chance of them at least getting a shot at making the pros.

I think if the younger fellas are good enough to build with/on, Joey moves on and one of them takes the helm.

If Joey Football---The Fireman🔥🔥🔥, balls out the rest of this year, give him 4 Mill $$ to come back and do it all again next year (at least 3.5)! Y not, in the portal age
Not a bad suggestion. And let’s stall the receivers around him! And we need better safeties too.

Who knows? Maybe Brandon will be our Freshman phenom. We're due one. Either way, you obviously play the best player and unless Merk improves massively, it looks like George will be that guy. Could also grab another portal guy.

If he can go to the league, he needs too.
Before the chance to earn big in college, yes this was the correct choice.....In the world of NIL and everything else, staying another year for a few to several million is much better than going late in the draft or undrafted free agent.

Ewers should have stuck around another year somewhere, earned millions and then get drafted. Believe he would've gone higher after another year and had he stayed at Texas, I think they easily beat OSU in Columbus to start the season and would be sitting at #1 with the title to be theirs to lose.

That's a lot of chance.

i personally think anyone who wouldn’t welcome him back has issues or is a bigger fan of players than they are of the team.

I think his returning would keep our WR room intact. Brazell will likely be gone pro, as he should, but I don’t want a repeat of last year with Matthews, who will be the integral part to our passing game next season.

Here’s a good take on the possibility of Joey’s return.

Sports talk J is a Joke! He acts like he is breaking news. Watch Vol quest, Go Vols 247, Josh and Swain, Fanrun radio Knoxville, Mike Keith shows, Tony Basillo. All these are on YouTube. These folks know what's going on. Sports talk J is just repeating someone else, he is a nice guy, he doesn't know football
Him and Boogie Bentley are the worst.
