I was proud of this boy today. He is going to be a great player for us. Looks like young Leonard Little out there at times

Guess what, next year's D-line is going to be sick and actually have depth when you also consider the recruiting class.

Next year at DE we have Jackson, Martin, Smith, Miller, Bohannon.

At DT, we will have Hughes, Walls, a JUCO guy, Carson, Saulsberry, and Wright/Johnson.

Oh for decent depth in the trenches beginning next year!!!

Our future along the defensive line is very promising.

Our future everywhere is promising. Next year's O-Line is going to be really good with this year's experience, another year under Wylie, and another year under Hiestand.

At WR, we will have two studs and can put Zach where he needs to be and that's in the slot and not on the outside.

At LB, we will be better.
At DB, we will have two potential lock down corners with Teague and Gordon growing another year.
At safety, we have a stud in Jackson and then will have depth at the other safety position with a talented freshmen such as Loften, Randolph, or Martin.

We will still have a great stable of RBs.

I'm not giving up on this year, but I get giddy when thinking about the depth we will have on both sides of the ball beginning next year. And then in 2011 having experienced depth on both sides of the ball.

I'm really pumped about the next few years..especially if we can maintain some stability, that will be huge for this young, talented group. I think we still need to add some pieces here and there though. Another couple big, aggressive d and o lineman would go a long way..tvols, not being negative or sarcastic, but why do u think we will be better at linebacker next year when most of the starters r graduating?

Because we cannot be worse. I love Reveiz to death because he is the definition of a Volunteer with his heart and desire. But he is athletically challenged, and it would not be a big deal if he had talent flanking him on both sides, but he doesn't. With another year of S&C and Thompson's coaching, I personally think Lathers, Johnson, and King will be absolute studs.

Sorry, I should've quoted u, glad u picked up on it tho..but yeah, I see what ur saying. We might have the worst lb core (especially in coverage) in the sec. I think it has been a while (mayo) since we have recruited a lb as talented as aj johnson..I pumped to see how he turns out

I have been thinking and telling folks this since the Oregon game! Despite what some will tell you we still have talent on this team. A good bit if it and several potential All-SEC players but the problem is there just Freshmen & Sophomores and it will take a good while before the light comes on and there actual play on the field matches up with all that potential.

Didn't want to make a new thread but I found this quote on wes rucker's twitter:

Vols DL coach Chuck Smith: "The only things than stop (freshman DEs Jacques Smith and Corey Miller) is God or themselves."

I don't know about sick, but it will be much improved. Our DE's might be sick, but our depth at DT will still be a little think IMO. But, I'll take it. This year is rough.
