Guys this WR core is not losing based on talent. Its strictly coaching and techniques. Watched the game and some UT vs OU/Fla film with Shawn Jefferson. 1st thing 1st he laughs at the stance, 2nd he identified flawz on top of flaws in the techniques being used. Azzani has never peoduced a WR to the NFL anywhere he's been. Hisbest product he's produced was the white kid at Wisconsin Abbrederis and he and Smith are clones of each other. He has to go.

Thanks for confirming what most fans just instinctually know.

This I believe! Too much talent coming in not living up to expectations. If it's just 1 or 2 4* recruits not getting it done maybe it's the kid but the whole group--coaching!
And it's not just the wide Recievers it's pretty much across the board!
Vandy' coach could do a LOT with this defense as could some others , to bad ours can't!

To the OP:

You can't have good receivers without a good quarterback. Dobbs is great runner, great young man, poor quarterback.

Hard to have any "good" receivers.

Smith, PW, Pearson, Jennings, Johnson and Wolf, should be the only guys thrown too. IMO. Malone can run out and grab the kickoff tee.

Smith against Arkansas: Two passes, two catches, two first downs. Never called a pass play to him again. There's better coaching in my backyard games.

Smith is not the 6th best receiver on the team.

I'd put him ahead of Malone, Jennings and VP at this point. He & Preston are our two best deep threats. North continues to be a big question mark.

Is Smith the most physically talented? No.

Most dependable? Probably yes at this point.

North hasn't been healthy yet this year.

Josh Smith is one of the hardest working and fiercest competitors in the program. If everyone had his heart and drive, there would be no problems. Also, a little irritating how many of you rank him low or insult him with a thread with this title just because he is white. He's one of the fastest players on the team......and by far the most dependable receiver. He can be counted on to be where he is supposed to be, he blocks and he makes tough catches.

Find something else to complain about because having Josh Smith as your best receiver is not a problem.

Who said it was a problem or brought race into it?

Is J. Johnson hurt?

Yes, Butch said in the Wednesday presser that he's progressing or something to that effect, but no time table was given for his return to the field. It sucks because he seems to run routes better than most.

Josh Smith is one of my favorites to watch. That touchdown catch he had against Oklahoma last season was one of the best plays of the year IMO.
