J Jennings moved to WR

Best example may be Jason Witten who went from D-Line to elite Tight-end. Come on Jauan, listen to the coaches and you will be successful!

IIRC, he was initially unhappy with the change. Just goes to show that coaches usually know what's best.

I would love to see with all the issues at WR (Preston & Von issues, Smith and Croom injuries), Jauan Jennings become a elite reciever at UT. He has the size and athleticism. This is what happens when you have talent depth. Only time will tell, take advantage of this Mr. Jennings and keep your nose clean.:good!:

It would

It was obvious to Jones that Jennings was taking a lot in, but the speedy, 6-foot-4, 202-pounder reinforced the Vols’ belief that he can contribute right away as a receiver.

“I’m excited about Jauan,” Jones said. “He’s kind of sipping through a fire hose right now at the wide receiver position, but I see an individual who is a very, very gifted athlete, very, very competitive, and has very, very good hands. ... He made some catches today where you kind of did a double-take and it got you excited. For Day 1, I was very, very encouraged with him.”

Dobbs said the same, and said that Jennings’ experience as a quarterback gives him enough knowledge of all of the positions to adapt quickly.

Makes sense put the athletes on the field...its great to have this much depth at key positions.

Except for the fact that you're basically telling the defense you are not throwing. And if you do throw, is there much wisdom in trotting out your least accurate passer in the place where space is the tightest? I respectfully disagree and would definitely keep Dobb's on the field.

Edit: not directed at you BK but rather the idea of putting JJ in on goal to go situations.

Butch said it today as well didn't he in the press conference? This kid is a real team player and smart too, he knows he has the athleticism to be on the field so he offers to play wherever he can get on the field fastest. Good Size (6'4") and skill set I think he will be an awesome receiver. Good luck JJ and Go Vols!!!

No doubt. Super competitive with the athletic ability to make it count. Seems to me that the WR corps needs a guy like this to push them, add a little more fire to a pretty reserved group. When PWill gets his issue resolved and joins the group, we'll have a second "dog" wr in there and IMHO it's gonna elevate the collective play of all of them.

You're right KB this could be the competitive spark that this group needs to get the hype train rolling. With the WR stepping up it will take a lot of pressure off offense to be run heavy so Dobbs can be Dobbs and do his thing. It could be a great sign for the Offense as a whole. I'm so excited for this season to start....Go Vols!

This has probably been posted already, but Butch had some pretty strong comments about Jennings' first day. Anytime Butch strings together back-to-back very's, it's a big deal. He did it twice in these comments about Jauan. :)
