J Jennings Dismissed from UT

I would be stunned if Currie allowed JJ back onto the team under a new HC. That would be telling the fanbase that he is wishy washy, makes rash decisions, and then reverses them once he realizes he overreacted. Would be a terrible look for a new AD.

And I have not once "bashed" JJ. I simply said earlier that Currie cannot reverse after the fact. Whether JJ was telling the truth or not doesn't really matter. However, the fact he was unable to take the mature route and control his emotions does matter.

Who said he could possibly be reinstated?

The dismissal of JJ has me totally disgusted. Perhaps there is more than the video in play, but to have Joke dismiss him with Currie out of the country is complete BS. A washed up interim that did an abysmal job coaching the Dline got his yabba dabba doo feelings hurt..... F him

CP, did you see the video? Every link I see, it’s “been deleted”. What did he say/do that has so many upset?

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Yes. He was dropping F bombs while calling the coaches liars and snakes.... dropped a lot of N words too. It was bad, but in my opinion a teachable moment.
Had a great Thanksgiving.... considering. Hope you did as well,

That is what can happen when a fellow goes messing with yabba dabba doo feelings.

Of course not and you know it

1st of all I agree with Carl. dismissing him was a knee jerk reaction and it should've been used as a teachable moment, with appropriate punishment but using the N word like he did was offensive and inappropriate. This is a result of the culture the team has been in for quite a while. I feel so bad for JJ and I am so disappointed that the administration left this culture in place so long and he became a casualty of it. So many want to say they are grown men and have to face the consequences of their actions, but who influences their character more than anybody else at this stage in their lives??? If you say their coaches, you are correct.

I really like JJ as a player and his passion but I honestly question his commitment to the team.
I don't buy the whole "I can't be on the sideline because I'm too passionate" bs. I think there was something odd there whether it was him personally or Butch meddling in things.

With that being said, I think a suspension would have been better but I mean it's on him for being dumb. Lesson learned, you can't publicly curse employers/coaches harshly and expect them to be like oh yeah you're right.

Why do people compare a football players job to their own. It’s not the same so stop

Actually...yes, it is.
You gotta have a job to know what one is. After you've put in 50 yrs or so working every day for a wide variety of bosses, in a wide variety of situations, get back to us.

So now JJ leaves and goes to a new team in a year and has success beyond belief becomes the highest drafted WR in years!!

Butch Jones is no longer the coach. Stay current.

Neither is Fulmer, but the tradition of having criminals on the roster is continuing under Hoke. John Kelly's arrest would've scored us some Fulmer Cup points had it happened during the off-season, yet he's on Brady Hoke's roster. Jennings' rant wouldn't have rated a single Fulmer Cup point, but he's gone because he hurt some people's feelings and they felt disrespected.

When the coaches keep criminals on the team, but kick off players for legally disrespecting them, it just goes to show that to the coaches, it's all about the coaches. They don't care about the players. The coaches care only about themselves and their egos.

Not gonna happen. Phenomenal athletic talent. Severe case of immaturity. Until and unless he grows into his talent level, he'll never reach his potential.

At this point, any success at all would be beyond belief.

I'll be very surprised if he stays at UT. But if he does, then let's hope we get a coaching staff that knows how to take that energy and passion and turn it in a productive direction.

Go Vols.
