J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Sure and we quickly learned that we cant represent the organization we were associated with (in my case the Marine Corps) without consequenses. Thus my high level of success in the organization.

Can we please stop acting like this video is the sole reason JJ is gone?

So, what do you know that the rest of us don't? Is he being investigated for eating babies or something?

People judge people all the time. It's human nature. The metrics being used to judge may vary. But when meeting or seeing other people we all make assumptions based off 1st impressions. I was walking along and saw this guy approaching me and I got this feeling he was some sort if criminal. It was summertime in Tn and this guy was wearing a North Carolina hoodie as he got closer I realized it was my brother. I told him he looked like a criminal. He said said I was right.

If you dress like a criminal you probably are a criminal or a least a criminal in training.
I prefer to try not to think like that, I work in the most dangerous area in America, yea it’s human nature to do this I do it at times in that area but not all the people in that area are not thugs criminals, that being said we are talking bout judging JJ I have no idea what type of character he is but by judging him by this video is not what we should do.. jmo..

I admit I was incorrect on the judgement issue.. but I’m not gonna judge a kid based on emotions and Football..

Ok I understand what you’re saying I feel ya but I’m talking mostly bout this subject by judging JJ if that makes things more understandable..

The Real World is not going to care about poor little JJ. It doesn’t care about you, me or anyone else. If anyone of us did this same thing about our employer or anyone that we represented we would be released. We are all judged whether we like it or not. We can ***** and whine all we want that things are not fair but how we conduct ourselves is how we will be judged. Defending him only allows the behavior to continue. BTW I would bet 1,000 that not one person would be defending him if his name was Cooper Melton.

Do you guys really want someone representing the university that talks like this? If he was not able to catch a ball he would be out dealing drugs and gang banging.

Why didn’t you just say he’d be selling junk on Sanford and Son too? A kid with a filthy mouth = gangs and drug dealer? I guess that’s what comes to mind when you see a black kid with an attitude these days.

I really hope this is a troll attempt and not just outright ignorance.
You are probably right. He wouldn't be dealing drugs and gang banging. He would undoubtedly have a career as a spokesperson for Natural Gas , alongside the British woman. They would play off each other nicely.

She would say, in her proper British accent..............."natural gas," and he would pipe in with ghetto ebonics ...."you gots that sh!t right, B***h!"

I didnt see where he brought up race? However, JJ did deal drugs correct? He was recently caught.

Dont know anything about gang banging, not sure where he got that.

He got caught smoking weed, like your average white kid every day. Where does smoking weed = drug dealer and gang banging? He was implying that JJ was a ghetto thug.

No they aren't. Comparisons, in general, are used when things are similar. These scenarios are not similar in any way whatsoever.

Responsibilities an employee has to an employer is similar to the the responsibilities a student athlete has to his program. They are different, but there are similarities.

Both have schedules

Both have someone they answer to

Both are getting compensated

Both come with privileges that a civilian doesn't.

They are the similar but differnt.

It's a fair comparison.

A job vs being on scholarship

Ok, you need to provide a link to that. To best of my knowledge, he was at worst last January arrested for misdemeanor drug possession that was dropped. So, he was innocent of that.

Where you getting drug dealing?

Yeah. You're right. Jennings' only option after football is drug dealer because he speaks differently than you. I was definitely correct about you earlier.

So, if one of them did, would you disown them and permanently banish them from your and all of the rest of your families lives? Would shunning be an acceptable level of punishment for that offense?

Or could you maybe think of some other form of punishment for one of your kids using bad language and questioning one of your bad decisions?

I would never disown my children or grandchildren, but I would also understand if they were kicked off the team for embarrassing the program and university.

Your child talking to you that way definitely deserves some level of internal punishment. Your child talking to a coach, a teacher, or a boss, that way is out of your hands as a parent. The organization has to deal immediately and harshly with that sort of behavior or it will remain a cancer and likely spread.

And if that happened to my child then I would do some serious soul-searching as to where I failed my child bad enough that they would present them publicly in that manner.

I am sorry, but that sort of 'throw a tantrum until I get what I want' behavior is what you try to correct when your child is a toddler.
That sort of petulant behavior is not what you expect to see in a college upperclassman.

This just in... Dealing with Jauan type situations is exactly why Gruden says "No thanks".
More importantly, it is exactly why a long term, successful coach teaches discipline, searches for playing leaders and preaches "team".
Our football Vols lacked all three this year. Last year's Lady Vols underachieved for the same reasons.

Yes LVs had poison on the team last year. We'll see if this year is different. It's easier to coach, train & mentor someone on skils they learn by doing - changing an attitude that speaks to character is totally different.

Like I said, I've been in business meetings with white women that used fouler language than Jennings did. Only difference was accent.

Nobody accused them of dealing drugs or gang banging.

By that logic you might as well call John Kelly a gang banger too right? Cause they both got arrested for the same thing
