J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Actually, the timing makes it appear that his video was the REACTION to being dismissed from the team, not the cause of the dismissal.

We don't know what he did that warranted dismissal.

Do you?

Wasn't he asking for UT to bring in a good coach staff for next year?

If he had been dismissed would he still care who would make up the next coaching staff would be?

Jennings uploading that video for everyone in the world to see was incredibly dumb, to put it very kindly, but honestly? I don’t want to hear crap from you.

You spent the better part of a week on here calling everyone a coward who waited until after the fact to speak up on certain issues. Well here we have a current player who plainly states his grievances with the current coaches, particularly their dishonesty, and sure enough your grandstanding ass pipes in to condemn him.

It was a profane, unnecessary, unwise thing to do, but gtfo with your fake ass moral superiority complex.

Here's some truth.

Can't get these clowns out fast enough. I'm sure JJ will be an all American somewhere else, that's how UT rolls.

That was at Ensworth and was arguably a bad call. That player was still in bounds when DB hit him and knocked him about 15 yards through the air and out of bounds. If memory serves it was Corn Elder that he hit. Not a dirty play but things had gotten chippy and the hit was huge and close and I think that’s why the flag was thrown. He did have a late hit against their QB that got lots of attention but that’s football. It happened and shouldn’t have. Far from a dirty player.

Was it a situation where the other team was trying to run out the clock?

Listen again. Seems more like his plea to bring in a good coaching staff is really just a way of further insulting the current staff.

That doesn't imply he's coming back next year, just that he's lashing out at the coaches.

Someone has to start this. The kid is probably an emotional wreck. Dismissing him from the team seems a little harsh for voicing his opionions. Especially from a staff that has failed this team. He is one of the FEW bright spots on this team looking forward.

We had a VFL(VFL Coordinator) walk out on this staff. Maybe if we had one in place, this wouldn't have happened? Obviously he is reflecting what's been going on within.

I wanted to keep this as it's own thread. This was for the people to stand up

A couple of VN members have heard that JJ hasn't attended any classes since the Ga Tech game.

This may be the actual reason for his dismissal.

We may never know for sure, of course. It's not the university's habit to provide details in cases of dismissal.

Why don’t you refresh my memory. I know Derek Barnett and his mom. Great kid. My kids went to BA with him and I spoke to him often. I followed his entire BA career and don’t remember anything other than a kid who busted his ass for his team and respected his coaches and a mom who worked 3 jobs to put him through BA. He is a hero to my son who is still at BA and who DB allowed to join him in the UT locker room and sit in his locker last year before the Florida game. I really don’t remember what you are referring to. He was entirely respectful off the field and an absolute beast on it. That’s how I remember him at BA.

Ditto!

Did Currie make our job opening less attractive to potential coaches by kicking off (arguably) the best skill player we have?

Just a thought...

Do you want a coach that bases his decision to coach here based on one player?

Do you think a coach would want an AD that doesnt support his coaches?

Now that makes sense..

The hit on the sidelines no. Corn had broken off a run down the sidelines. The late hit was and it was a bad decision that DB apologized for. I don’t remember any others and I saw every game. Perhaps one late hit makes a guy dirty but not imo. Maybe I have low standards! Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread I’m just a bit defensive when it comes to DB and our BA boys.

Yeah this may have been a case of too many strikes.
