J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Other teams called him a dirty player. Had some pretty nasty actions after plays were over. Ppl thought he was a gamble. He was fiery and very passionate about competing and winning just like JJ.

So a player that gets hurt in the first game of the season that has been no where to be seen since that time shows up Wed. of the week of the last football game and says he wants to play the last game because he hates Vandy. Then goes on social media in a rant about the coaches. Gets dismissed from team for his rant. Not buying it. This whole deal has a smell to it. While I’m not sure this staff could coach their way out of a paper bag I think there is more to this dismissal than we know. I think the rant came after he was dismissed. I think he didn’t meet some requirements imposed on him to continue being on this team. Until some gives prof otherwise I believe this is what happened. Hoke knows he’s gone si why would he care about what Jennings says. Firing Butch and hiring a new coach is the easy part for Currie. Changing the Culture for Tennessee football will take a lot of work.

Oh, well, appears to have worked out well for him. Glad he grew up and learned how to conduct himslef before it cost him, like it did jj

How do u know that? Are u the only regular Joe that has been allowed at the recent practices? Because even the local media has been banned. And he is far and away our best receiver anyway.. why not give him a chance? He has a fire like nobody else on that field. I want somebody like that on my team

Why call it a "rant"?

The young man was expressibg his feeling about wanting a good coach next year.

Seems like he was still on the team at the time.

Why don’t you refresh my memory. I know Derek Barnett and his mom. Great kid. My kids went to BA with him and I spoke to him often. I followed his entire BA career and don’t remember anything other than a kid who busted his ass for his team and respected his coaches and a mom who worked 3 jobs to put him through BA. He is a hero to my son who is still at BA and who DB allowed to join him in the UT locker room and sit in his locker last year before the Florida game. I really don’t remember what you are referring to. He was entirely respectful off the field and an absolute beast on it. That’s how I remember him at BA.

But what would've happened if the coaches denied him to play the last game of the year? We won't ever know. They're different circumstances.

Cause he’s an English professor and UT let’s him into the practices that’s how.. :)
